Between 35 armor sets and 30 individual armor pieces,The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomgives players a wide range of customization options to outfit Link in a way that best suits their play style while also giving collectors a lot of loot to try and uncover across Hyrule. Out of all of these armor sets available inTears of the Kingdom, there are a few that deserve to appear in the next entry.

Part of what makes collecting these pieces of gear so entertaining is seeing all of the references toThe Legend of Zeldaseries' pastwith costumes based on previous incarnations of Link and other familiar characters. Others are exciting finds for the awesome benefits they grant the player to help them traverse the treacherous land of Hyrule. While the nextLegend of Zeldatitle is likely still a ways off and little is known about how it will iterate uponTears of the Kingdom, hopefully, some of these sets make the jump to this next game.

Froggy Set

The Froggy Armor Set is the perfect answer toTears of the Kingdom’s annoying wet surface mechanic that can make climbing cliffs in the rain a headache. This armor set allows players to climb wet or icy surfaces for longer before sliding down, giving players an extra traversal option in their toolkit. Obtaining the Froggy Armor Set involves completing theLucky Clover Gazette questline, but could be obtained through different means in a future game.

Tingle Set

Although Tingle is not present inTears of the Kingdomhimself, players can capture the spirit of this wacky character by having Link don theTingle Armor Set. Players can find each piece of the Tingle Set by following the Misko’s Treasure series of side quests. This armor doesn’t offer much in the way of bonuses other than increasing the player’s speed at night, but its ability to make NPCs cower in fear as Link approaches makes it more than worthy to appear in the next game.

Evil Spirit Set

Players can channel their innerGanondorf with the Evil Spirit Armor SetinTears of the Kingdom, whose pieces can be found in chests hidden throughout the Depths. Not only does this costume increase Link’s stealth capabilities, but it also increases the damage players can deal with bone weapons and prevents skeletal enemies from attacking them. While Link may not look much like a hero wearing this armor, its awesome design and helpful effects make it deserving of an appearance in future games.

Phantom Set

One of the bulkiest-looking armor sets inTears of the Kingdomis thePhantom Armor Set, but its appearance is too good to not become a staple of future games. This armor is based on Phantom enemies fromThe Legend of Zelda: Phantom HourglassandThe Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Although the Phantom Armor Set doesn’t offer much beyond an attack increase when all three pieces are worn, the nod it gives to the underrated DS era ofZeldagames deserves to be preserved.

Dark Set

The Dark Armor Set embodies everything that makes these collectible series costumes inTears of the Kingdomso cool and makes a great argument for why it should return in the nextZeldatitle. While the set only grants players a speed bonus at night, being able to look like the iconicDark Linkenemy fromZelda 2: The Adventure of LinkandThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timeis well worth the player’s time to obtain. It can be purchased one piece at a time from the Bargainer Statues found throughout the Depths.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available for Nintendo Switch.
