While Marvel Studios is setting the stage for its first MCU release in 2023, new photos appear to showAnt-Man And The Wasp: Quantumaniamay be undergoing some last-minute changes, as the film has reshot some scenes just weeks shy of its premiere.Ant-Man 3will debut on February 17, which places the aforementioned images about six weeks before the big premiere, withMarvelfans currently waiting for a new trailer that will be put out this Monday during the College Football National Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the TCU Horned Frogs. Although the first teaser was dropped back in late October, finally unveiling Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror in full, an earlier preview from the San Diego Comic-Con was leaked months before.RELATED:What to Expect From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2023What is most confusing is that the pictures posted by a Paul Rudd fan account on Twitter (@paulruddcom), actually appear to be centered around a scene fans already saw in the trailer, with Scott Lang casually walking down the street enjoying his newfound post-Endgame fame. In this case, Lang, the world’s most famous ex-Baskin-Robbins employee, is shown carrying a box of pastries bearing the franchise’s signature pink and blue colors, possibly hinting at thisAnt-Mansequel having even more fun with that particular joke.
However, since these photos are dated January 6 by the source, the fact that the movie is still filming new footage at this late stage could be interpreted as a sign that test screenings have warranted changes of some kind. For now, fans will have to wait and see whatAnt-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania’snew trailer has to show after alreadyrevealing Bill Murray’s Krylar in the first official preview.
Last year, bothDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessandBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverunderwent somewhat late reshoots, and while in the latter’s case it doesn’t seem to have affected the final product, theDoctor Strangesequel is believed to have sufferedmore substantial changes. Considering the light-hearted segment that’s being reworked or added forAnt-Man 3, these reshoots wouldn’t appear to be too consequential for what isundoubtedly one of 2023’s most anticipated movies, and perhaps they might be a way to insert further product placement or jokes featuring Lang.
In any case, once the newAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniatrailer is out, it could be easier for viewers to compare side by side this particular scene. What will surely have more people excited is the potential to finally see whatthe MCU’s version of MODOK looks likegiven his rumored inclusion in the plot.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawill release in theaters on Jul 18, 2025.
