Ubisoft has announced thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill receive Update 1.6.2 come December 6. Ubisoft notes that it will be the game’s final content update, wrapping up two years of post-launch support that has been going on so far. In Update 1.6.2, players can expect “The Last Chapter,” which Ubisoft says will bring out a “touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor’s saga.” This epilogue will also tie up some of the storylines developed throughout the game, as well as offer closure toplayers' time among the Raven Clan.

As for New Game+ mode inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft has decided not to add the feature despite it being a highly requested one. The news almost certainly will come as a disappointment, especially since bothAssassin’s Creed OriginsandAssassin’s Creed Odysseyadded a New Game+ modeafter launch, which let players replay the game’s campaign with the progression, build, and gear they earned on their first playthrough still intact.

Ubisoft explains the reasoning behind its decision, saying thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallais built as a unique experience that is “very different from its predecessors in its structure.” It also adds that the depth ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallagave the team “limited options to make replayability unique and rewarding.” As an alternative for players seeking more replayable content, Ubisoft thinks they will be better off with theForgotten Saga roguelite game mode.

New Game+ mode is a fairly common feature in RPG games, and seeing thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill not be getting it after all these years may seem a little bit discouraging for fans who have been patiently waiting. Granted, they will still have new additional content to enjoy, and hopefully it can bring asatisfying ending to the game.

Assassin’s Creed Valhallais available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
