More details have emerged about the settlements ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.Settlements will be a large part of the gameand will act as a home base to return to. Players will be able to build most of the building located at the settlement and will gain access to many more activities as the settlement expands. More activities and functions of the settlement have been revealed, however, and some hints by the developer have pointed to even more surprises in store.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallawill follow the Viking leader, Eivor, in a journey to England for better land and safety. During this journey, players will see the difference in nature between the cold, unforgiving landscape of Norway andEngland’s lush green hills. Based on what is already known about settlements, decisions and events will have a large influence on the settlement, including buildings and recruits. Valhalla’s creative director, Ashraf Ismail, revealed a screenshot of the settlement located in England, which may reveal more information about them.

The settlement in the screenshot surrounds a lake and seems to be far along in construction. Ismail lists a few activities available such as fishing, planning with the war chief, and maintaining relationships with residents. The screenshot shows a fishing dock and boat, but one tiny detail may reveal a possible furry companion.
Almost hidden on the dock, stands a striped cat, which could possibly point to having pets at the settlement. If this is a feature at the settlement, players may spend much of their time interacting with their feline friend. Another detail worth pointing out from the screenshot is the number of buildings and the distinct design each on has.
The settlement appears to have at least 10 buildings, with two standing out as very unique. On the far left of the settlement, a triangular building is located apart from the rest of the buildings. This possibly could be the living quarters for Eivor, but could also serve as barracks, or even a tattoo parlor. The other building is located on the right of the village and is much larger than the others. This could possibly be where players will check in with the war chief or plan missions. Although the gameplaytrailer did not reveal much about settlements, the screenshot is very telling about the possible structures located there.
Not much is known about the progression of settlements other than choices will serve as an influence, but whether buildings will have to be unlocked or upgraded throughout the story remains unclear.Assassin’s Creed Valhallaisintroducing many new elementsto theAssassin’s Creedfranchise, and settlements are one of the most interesting new additions with mystery still surrounding it.
