Summary

By the time theBorutoDLC was added toNaruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, it felt like there were no other characters left to be added to thisiconic anime fighting series. However, CyberConnect2 has still managed to pack in just a few more characters for players to enjoy, some of which are different versions of iconic fighters from the past, while others are entirely new characters who show up in the Special Story Mode.

Since a lot of the trailers leading up to the game were showcasing battles featuring characters fans had already seen, it led to a lot of worry among the fanbase about whether the cast was going to be exactly the same, but that’s luckily far from the case. These are themost fun and exciting new characterswho are fully playable inNaruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

Koji standing in front of a whirlwind of flames

6Koji Kashin

A Little Tricky To Get Used To But Can Cause Some Real Chaos With His Fire Abilities

While Jiraiya is already in the game, it is unfortunately only his older iteration that is playable, which is quite slow and cumbersome to control. Koji, however, isa clone of Jiraiya who replicates his peak years, making him extremely dangerous in combat and a ton of fun to play around with, especially with his moves that involve Fire Release.

Koji will make use of his fiery abilities during each of his combos, and his Ninjutsu unleashes a giant whirlwind of fire that can easily send the enemy up for a combo if they are within range. He also has one of the most visually stunning Ultimate Jutsu attacks in the entire game, and he becomes incredibly fast on his feet when entering his Sage mode, which makes it even harder to escape from his deadly combos.

Naruto in Baryon Mode

5Naruto (Baryon Mode)

This Form Is Naruto At His Very Peak, And While He Does Have Some Drawbacks, He’s Still A Ton Of Fun To Use

Considering just how many versions of Naruto are included inNaruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, it was quite a risky move to add yet another iteration of the character, since it would be easy for him to get sidelined or forgotten about completely. Luckily though, CyberConnect2 has made a real attempt to ensure that this Baryon Mode Naruto stands out from the rest, thanks to his unique combos and incredibly eye-catching Ultimate Jutsu.

While Baryon Naruto is just about as fast as his Sage of the Six Paths mode, his combos also have a very large range to them, thanks to the magnificent power of the Nine Tails Chakra. The Tailed Beast Cannon is definitely good for dealing with ranged characters, butthe Massive Rasenganshould always be Naruto’s go-to, as it’s a lot faster and can also be used while in the air, leading to some long and devastating combos. It also needs to be noted that this power does come at a cost since Baryon Naruto will need to enter a rest state after using his Awakening, so it can be a bit of a gamble to go all-out during a fight.

Indra Otsusuki

4Indra Otsutsuki

Indra’s Explosive Combos And Devastating Ultimate Jutsu Make Him Worthy Of The Otsutsuki Name

It makes sense that Indra would be immensely powerful considering that he’s a member ofthe legendary Otsutsuki family, but he sure doesn’t hold back his strength when taking to the battlefield inNaruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. Indra will use a mixture of elements in his attacks to overwhelm his opponent, which can lead to some visually stunning combos that are a real feast for the eyes.

Unlike Sasuke, Indra’s Amaterasu Jutsu doesn’t follow the enemy and will instead simply create a shield around Indra to blow back anyone who gets too close, similar to Pain’s Almighty Push. He’s an incredibly fun addition to the cast and more or less an all-rounder thanks to his perfect balance of offensive and defensive moves and abilities.

Kawaki charging up a punch

3Kawaki

Kawaki’s Usage Of Karma Makes Him An Extremely Unique Character

Boruto’s dearest friend, Kawaki, is finally a playable character in theStormseries, and he’s bringing with him some rather unique abilities that help him stand out from his peers. One move that really sets him apart is Karma Absorption, which Kawaki can either use while standing next to an opponent to steal their energy, or he can even deploy it when a projectile is headed his way to completely remove it from existence.

He can then unleash a powerful, highly-concentrated laser beam in the form of the Karma Discharge, allowing him to completely shut down ranged characters like Deidara and Tenten while also keeping more lightweight fighters at a safe distance. During his Awakening form, Kawaki has a Thorn Explosion move, which is admittedly a little slow and clunky, but Whirlwind Blade Dance is the complete opposite, being a quick and lethal flurry of blade strikes that launches the enemy away after a few hits.

Delta using her awakening

2Delta

Delta’s Vibrant And Fast Attacks Make Her One Of The Most Captivating Fighters In Battle

Delta is without a doubt one of the fastest, most fun, and most explosive characters in the entire game, withher rapid movementsand over-the-top abilities making her an absolute blast to play. Both of her abilities add a lot of versatility to her playstyle; not only can she come crashing down from the sky with her Ripping Eruption Kick, but she can also keep enemies at bay by letting out her Ray of Destruction, too.

Delta’s Awakening Mode is a bit of a double-edged sword, as while she is a lot faster, it also makes it incredibly easy to use up a full bar of Chakra in little to no time at all. She also gains the Self Destruct ability in this mode, which is very slow but can help deter any opponent who’s getting a little too close for comfort. She’s an amazing rushdown character whose bright colors and unique movements make her a joy to both play and watch.

Sasuke Support Kage

1Sasuke Uchiha (Supporting Kage)

The Best Iteration Of Sasuke Ever Seen In The Storm Series

This new version ofSasuke is a tricky opponent to fight, not only because of how lightning-fast his combos are, but also due to just how many tricks he keeps up his sleeve, which he can let out at any point during a fight. His Dragon Flame Jutsu is a lot faster than his traditional Fireball Jutsu, and it will even lock on to the enemy for a little while in case they try to get out of the way.

By far the most exciting part about this character, though, is the Heavenly Hand Power, which allows Sasuke toswitch places with his opponent. He did actually have a similar ability to this inNaruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4,which would automatically lead into a Chidori, but this time around, the Jutsu will physically switch places in an instant without the Chidori being involved. This allows the player to set up some extremely creative traps, such as throwing out a support like Pain and then trading places so that the enemy gets hit by the blast. This isn’t even mentioning his Twin Kirin Ultimate Jutsu, which is one of the flashiest abilities in the entire game. Just when it felt like CyberConnect2 couldn’t make Sasuke any more terrifying to play against, they managed to create his most powerful and fun version to date.
