There are a lot of newElden Ringweapons to pick up and try out inShadow of the Erdtree, and it can be tough to decide whether it’sworth changing your buildfor a new weapon if you aren’t sure it will remain relevant. This is especially true when so many of the base game weapons are already powerful enough to last you through the whole DLC.

But a few of the DLC weapons are arguably some of thebest weapons inElden Ring, including those base game options. These six weapons – or rather, four weapons, your own fists, and a staff – are powerful enough to last you through to the final boss ofShadow of the Erdtree.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Anvil Hamme Ruined Forge Lave Intake Smithing Art Spears

Weapon Type: Colossal Weapon

One of the treasures of the Ruined Forges.

A tremendous hammer that incorporates as its head the red-hot anvil of the forge.

It is said that the anvil’s shape is inspired by that of an altar, and that long ago, it was indeed used as such in rite and ritual.

Smithing Art Spears

Deals both Fire and Physical damage, extremely high Defense

The Anvil Hammer is one of the best early-game weapons forShadow of the Erdtreebecause of its incredibly high Poise damage, high Defensive stats (when two-handing), and its combination of both Physical and Fire damage.

TheAnvil Hammer is very heavy, clocking in at a staggering 22.0 weight. But you won’t need a Shield equipped, and your armor won’t matter as much when the Hammer itself is taking most of your hits. Consider combining this with the Deflecting Hardtear for a very tight, but very rewarding, close-combat playstyle.

Here, and here alone, were moon and fire ever together.

Moon-and-Fire Stance

Dual Weapon Skills, can be dual-wielded, but cannot block

Rellana’s Twin Blades are the bane of most players' experience in Castle Ensis – but when you’re not on the receiving end of its graceful attacks and two different Weapon Skills, andcan wield it for yourself, you’ll likely see why Rellana loved these swords so much.

When you Two-Hand Rellana’s Twin Blades, you will equip a second blade in your left hand. And when you hold down the Weapon Skill input, you will enter a stance with two outcomes: a Light Attack to blast beams of Magic forward, or a Heavy Attack to create a huge vortex of fire in your immediate vicinity. The one downside of this weapon is that you cannot block when Two-Handing.

Weapon used by the Bloodfiends.

An arm pulled from the corpse of one of their kin, and wielded as a makeshift weapon.

Having been sanctified by a blood ritual, this armament is capable of spraying blood stored within when executing a strong attack.

Endure

Heavy Attacks inflict extra Bleed buildup

The Bloodfiend’s Arm was once one of the most broken items inShadow of the Erdtree, but after some tweaks and bug fixes, it no longer procs Bleed much more often than it should. Still, at maximum upgrade level, the Bloodfiend’s Arm is arguably the bestColossal weapon for Arcane users.

The Bloodfiend’s Arm can be tough to get, as it drops from a sole Bloodfiend in Prospect Town above the DLC start point. Head to the top of this area to find the Bloodfiend Chief that drops this weapon.

Staff of the Great Beyond

Weapon Type: Glintstone Staff

Staff fashioned from the tail-fingers of Metyr, the Mother of Fingers, and the microcosm raised aloft over the crux they form.

The Mother received signs from the Greater Will from the beyond of the microcosm.

Despite being broken and abandoned, she kept waiting for another message to come.

SORCERY: 114

INCANT: 184

Can cast both Sorceries and Incantations

The Staff of the Great Beyond is an item that players will likely not seeuntil nearing the end of the DLC, but it’s one that is worth building around. This unique Glintstone Staff can cast both Incantations and Sorceries, and the scaling on both of these types of spells is not too shabby, either.

With this, you don’t need to have a backup Glintstone Staff or a Sacred Seal, which can be important for builds that use buffs from both types of spells, like Fundamentalist builds.

Twinblade symbolizing abundance.

The secret treasure of the tower.

Though the blades, fashioned from golden shoots, are largely wilted and darkened, their luster can be restored by dealing damage to foes.

However, damage dealt to Those Who Live in Death will have no such effect.

Euporia Vortex

Gets stronger the more enemies you hit with it

The Staff of the Great Beyond is an item you can’t expect to find until late in the game, but Euporia is found even later. It can only be acquired once Enir-Ilim has been revealed, and after that you must follow a secret path throughout the last Legacy Dungeon of the DLC to find its hidden location.

But the effort is worth it for one of thebest Twinblades in the game. When you attack enemies successively, the weapon builds an extra damage buff like the Rotten Winged Sword Talisman. But this also stacks with these Talismans, and Flask of Wondrous Physick effects and the like. If you can land this Twinblade’s Ash of War, too, you are all but certain to deal an insane amount of damage to your target.

This weapon is especially useful against large groups because of the AoE of the skill and its boosted damage for its fast moveset.

Dryleaf Arts

Weapon Type: Hand-to-Hand Arts

A technique for hand-to-hand combat without the aid of a weapon.

The teachings of a group of spiritual seekers known as the Dryleaf Sect, revealed only to those of worthy valor and character.

The practice of this martial art marks the dawn of an ascetic’s journey.

Palm Blast

Unique Two-Handed moveset featuring deft martial arts maneuvers that are surprisingly impactful

The Dryleaf Arts weapon was one of the most highly anticipated weapons forShadow of the Erdtree– and who doesn’t love the idea of punching enemies to death with a flurry of martial arts moves? The Dryleaf Arts moveset it fast, deals a lot of Poise damage, and can be comboed together for great effect.

Because ofthe rapid attack speed of this weapon, you can combine it with the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia to almost instantly gain the attack buff upon entering combat. Leap in with a flurry of kicks, punch fast with the Light Attack and combo it into Heavy Attacks, and don’t forget to use its Ash of War, Palm Blast, which can almost instantly knock down all but the largest of enemies with a fully-charged blast.
