For months, rumors have been swirling that the various maps inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareare being prepped for the game’s battle royale mode. There’s mounting evidence thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis set to introduce its battle royale soon, and now the map, or at least a portion of it, has potentially leaked online.
Ryan B. discovered that it’s possible forCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers to explore the entire battle royale map. All players have to do is go to the Atlas Superstore, one of thenew maps added withModern WarfareSeason 2, and then choose to be a COD Caster. Players are able to look at the entire map, though there are areas with very low quality textures.

While it’s quite possible that theModern Warfarebattle royale map will look different than what’s seen here, fans shouldn’t have too much longer to find out for sure. TheModern Warfarebattle royale mode is now being teased directly by Infinity Ward, and leaked details have revealed vehicles, itsWarzone name, and more. There’s even a space for it in the main menu now, so it seems like battle royale will be coming sooner rather than later.
An exact release date for theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarebattle royale mode is unavailable at the time of this writing. However, it’s possible that it will come during Season 2. The officialSeason 2 road mapdoesn’t include any mention of battle royale, though, so maybe fans will have to wait for Season 3 or even later.
Whatever the case may be, it will be interesting to see just how many of theModern Warfarebattle royale rumors were true once the mode is officially announced. One of the more interesting rumors has been that theModern Warfarebattle royale mode will be standalone and not require players to own the game to access it. If so, that could have huge implications for the game mode.
