Call of Duty: Warzonehas been in Season 1 of itsCall of Duty: Vanguardintegration for months, but it will soon be moving on to Season 2.Call of Duty: WarzonePacific Season 2 will bring with it some sweeping changes to the battle royale, including the introduction of new points of interest and the addition of bomber planes. But while these may be the most attention-grabbing changes coming to the BR, there’s another important change on the way as well.
SinceCall of Duty: Warzonelaunched, fans have been frustrated with the game’s gas mask animations. Like other battle royale games,Call of Duty: Warzonehas a hazard that surrounds players on the map, with the safe space becoming smaller as the game goes on. Thehazard inCall of Duty: Warzoneis a cloud of poison gasthat can kill players fairly quickly if they’re not careful. One way to protect against the poison gas inCall of Duty: Warzoneis to wear a gas mask, but doing so has its own risks.

When players move in and out of the gas inCall of Duty: Warzone, there is agas mask animationwhere their character either puts on their gas mask or removes it. This can put players at a huge disadvantage if they happen to be in the middle of a firefight when this happens, as it essentially ruins their sight and interrupts their shooting. This can happen frequently towards the end of any givenCall of Duty: Warzonematch, as the safe area will be smaller and players are more likely to step in and out of the gas.
Call of Duty: Warzonefans have been asking for Activision to change the game’s gas mask animation for quite some time, and now it seems that a meaningful change is finally on the way. WhenCall of Duty: WarzonePacific Season 2launches on February 14, the gas mask animation will be changed so that it no longer happens if players are aiming down their sights. This way, players are far less likely to have their play interrupted by the animation.
It’s not a perfect solution and some players may still find themselves annoyed by the gas mask animation from time to time, but it is a step in the right direction. The only thing to worry about now is whether or not the fix will actually work.Call of Duty: Warzonesuffers from various technical issues, exacerbated by development problems behind-the-scenes, and changes sometimes bring new glitches with them. There have also been multiple instances where the developers have attempted to fix something inCall of Duty: Warzone, only for it to remain a problem after the update rolls out.
Whatever the case may be,Call of Duty: Warzonefanswill find out if the gas mask animation change works as intended when Season 2 starts on February 14.
