Summary
Ever sinceCapcomfirst entered the video game industry in the 1980s, they have developed a reputation for the variety in their games. From shooters to RPGs, adventure games to inventing an entirely new genre that they coined “survival horror,“Capcom cultivated an important placein both the arcade and home console market.
Along the way, another thing Capcom has become known for is how many of their games include absolutely stellar boss battles. Through their incredible catalog that features franchises likeResident Evil,Mega Man,Devil May Cry,and more, Capcom has created some of the most important and memorable boss fights of all time.

6Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny
Epic Samurai Adventure With Survival Horror Stylings
Conceived as a ninja version ofResident Evil, theOnimushaseries was one of the most popular titles of its generation. The second entry sees newcomer Jubei on a quest to stop an invading Genma army, a seemingly unstoppable horde of demons and monsters.
This dark fantasy samurai setting pits Jubei against both monstrous creatures and fellow swordsmen, featuring some epic fights against foes like Gogandantess. Demon LordNobunaga Oda also returnsfrom the first game, a power-hungry madman who serves as a terrific final test.

Viewtiful Joewas one of the more interesting releases of the infamous Capcom Five, a series of GameCube exclusives designed to increase hardware sales. Influenced by superhero comics and Tokusatsu films from Japan,Viewtiful Joeis a slick and stylish beat ‘em up where the player is tasked with taking down multiple members of an organization known as the Jadow.
These fierce bosses force the player to use all of Joe’s abilities, which are called VFX Powers, challenging them to master slow motion, speed up, and more. These larger-than-life bosses are full of life and are altogether some of the most charismatic ever seen in gaming, all true delights to do battle with.

After a nearly decade-long hiatus,Mega Manreturned for its eleventh entry and brought all the hallmarks that made the first ten games so good. The harsh level design, fabulous music, and steep challenge remained intact, as did theabsolutely crushing boss battles.
InMega Man 11, thanks to the new Double Gear System, the Blue Bomber can make use of new abilities that allow him to slow down time, increase the size of shots from the Buster, and more abilities that the player can find throughout the game. The Double Gear System becomes crucial for defeating Mega Man 11’s most challenging bosses.

Devil May Cry 3is set ten years before the events of the first entry, where the adversarial relationship betweenDante and his brother Vergiltakes center stage. As the two brothers bicker in the middle of a demonic invasion, Dante is once again chosen to dispatch a wide array of hideous beasts on his way to becoming the character we know fromDevil May Cry.
One of the key standouts is the battle with Lady inside a library that becomes a destructive playground, as her arsenal of explosive weapons will force the player out of cover, as well as the multiple fights against Vergil. The final confrontation with Vergil is backed by a killer soundtrack and tests the player to unleash all the skills that they’ve learned over the course of the game.

Just asResident Evilwas starting to feel a bit stale in its current form, Capcom, and series creator Shinji Mikami, opted to take the fourth entry into a bold new direction. By lockingthe camera directly behind Leonand creating a perspective that elevated the horror elements,Resident Evil 4sought to create a tense, white-knuckle thrill ride with ferocious boss battles.
Taking advantage of the impressive hardware of the time, the monsters and creatures seen in this installment were the best the franchise had seen to this point. Del Lago is a terrifying tilt on a river while inside a rickety boat, Mendez is a claustrophobic battle for survival and the final clash with Saddler ups the scale to its peak.

Though it seemed impossible, Capcomfinally remadeResident Evil 2in 2019 after years of rumors, and it didn’t disappoint. This updated remix of the survival horror classic didn’t just pump up the visuals and audio, it also took the originalRE2’sbosses and turned the dial-up as far as it could go.
The harrowing evolution of William Birkin from desperate scientist and father to an unrecognizable monster haunts players throughout the game, as his multiple stages make up several jaw-dropping set-piece battles. The nefarious Mr. X is another formidable foe, as he stalks players across the map, and his final form as the Super Tyrant on a moving elevator is another highlight ofthis fabulous achievement by Capcom.
