2022 is filled with some of Marvel Studios' most highly-anticipated sequels, one being Taika Waititi’sThor: Love and Thunder. With only a few months left until its big release this summer, it appears cameras haven’t stopped rolling yet, as new reports indicate star Christian Bale will be undergoing reshoots for the upcoming film.
After starring as the iconic Batman inThe Dark Knighttrilogy, Bale is now playing the Marvel antagonistGorr the God Butcher, a tormented being whose hatred towards gods has led him to faceThor. In the comics, Gorr comes from a nameless planet where a lack of water, risk of starvation, earthquakes and other dangers are all very common. Yet, Gorr remains hopeful that the Gods will help his people. After losing his parents at a young age as well as his own family when he is older, Gorr is left to fend for himself, enduring much suffering as a result.

According to The Ankler’s Jeff Sneider, Bale is currently working on reshoots forThor: Love and Thundertaking place in Manhattan Beach, California. While many fans often view reshoots as some sort of negative, Marvel Studios reshoots have become much more common. Whether they are forDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessorEternals, reshoots are a crucial part to the filmmaking process, as they guarantee the final cut of the film is where it needs to be.Eternalsdirector Chloé Zhao claimed them to be ‘a blessing,’ according to The Direct.
This new comes after Waititi’s comments where the director joked about thefinal cut ofThor: Love and Thundernot being complete until a day before its premiere. Of course, with the amount of time and reshoots Marvel Studios is putting into this film,Thor: Love and Thunderwill no doubt turn out to be something truly special. As reshoots continue, fans can expect a first trailer to surface online in the coming months.
