Christian Bale has established himself as one of the more respected actors in Hollywood while also being involved with some of the more popular blockbuster franchises Hollywood has ever created. It appears Bale has one more franchise he’d like to be a part of, too:Star Wars.
Bale’s most recent blockbusters includeThor: Love and Thunderfrom the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in addition to his involvement in theTerminatorfranchise andChristopher Nolan’sBatmantrilogy. Still, Bale admitted that he is a big fan of theStar Warsfranchise and would like to be a part of it. Although, from the horse’s mouth, it appears he wanted to be part of it for comedic reasons above all else.

Bale admitted toThe Hollywood Reporterthat he wanted to be a stormtrooper who hit his head much like the one did during the original trilogy. “All I ever wanted inStarWarswas to be in aStarWarsoutfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through. The real nerds who watchedStarWarsway too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to bethatguy. That was it.” Bale then admitted that he would love to be involved in the franchise no matter what. “If I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I didEmpire of the Sun, and now, she runs theStar Warsuniverse.”
Bale has been around actors who have participated in theStar Warsfranchise in the past. He just shared the screen with Natalie Portman, who played Padme Amidala from 1999 to 2005, inThor: Love and Thunder. Bale also acted alongside Liam Neeson, who played Qui Gon Jinn inThe Phantom Menacein 1999, inBatman Begins, so ifStar Warsfelt those two were good enough to add to the franchise’s lore, then surely they would feel the same way about an actor like Bale, who’s one of the most committed method actors that Hollywood has ever seen.
At the same time, hiring someone with the pedigree of Bale would be bringing in an already well-established name to a franchise that usually took actors and made them established names. Actors like Portman, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Adam Driver, among others, got their biggest break throughtheStar Warsfranchise, as they would become stars following their roles in the franchise. There’s nothing wrong with adding someone like Bale, who would put his heart and soul into his performance, it’s just not like them to do something like that. Of course they have done that in past with actors like Neeson and Samuel L Jackson.
If they were to cast him, they may put him in a role similar to the onethey put Daniel Craig inwhen he made a cameo as a Stormtrooper inThe Force Awakens. Doing so made it so that the fans didn’t even know that such a big-time actor was doing such a small role, but that made it even funnier when they realized who he played. Since Bale wanted to be inStar Warsfor the laughs, who’s to say that couldn’t be in the cards in the near future?
