A rumor from 2021 indicated that anUnchartedspin-off titlemay have been in development at Bend Studio before getting canceled. Bend Studio releasedUncharted: Golden Abyssfor the PS Vita in 2011, so it does have some experience with the franchise, but it looks like this supposed game was completely shut down as the team commented on its future project a year later.
In 2022,Bend Studio confirmed that it’s working on a new IPthat builds upon the open-world systems introduced inDays Gone. This new game has a multiplayer component, but not much else is known about its features or gameplay elements.
Fans may not have to wait long to see the new IP from Bend Studio, as Sony is hosting aspecial PlayStation Showcase event on May 24. Bend Studio may decide to reveal its new game at the event, but that has yet to be confirmed. Sony has also confirmed that the show will be just over an hour long, featuring games from first-party studios, third-party partners, and indie developers.
