One of the most appealing things about Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetric multiplayer gameDead by Daylightis the ability to play as popular horror movie characters. FromHalloween’s Michael Myers toHellraiser’s Pinhead, there are numerous killers that make up theDead by Daylightroster. Now it seems that the nextDead by Daylightcrossover has leaked online, though it remains to be seen exactly what it will all entail.
The latestDead by Daylightleaks have been spreading online, claiming that the upcoming Chapter 22 is going to be called Crow’s Nest and that Chapter 23 is going to be based onThe Conjuringfilm franchise. The Conjuringmovies are a popular series of horror films based on fictionalized versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren, infamous supernatural investigators. The Conjuringmoviesfeature a number of notable characters who could make for interesting new Survivors, as well as ghostly apparitions that would be solid picks for killers.

Further details about whatThe ConjuringDLC inDead by Daylightwill entail are unavailable at the time of this writing. While it seems unlikely thatThe Conjuringfranchise mascot Annabellewill be the killer for the DLC, it’s easy to see how beings like The Nun or The Crooked Man fromThe Conjuring 2would be good picks for the game.
It must be stressed that this leak has not been proven outright and so fans should take it with a grain of salt. However, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if these leaks turn out to be true. Behaviour itself has acknowledged the leaks (thought not the actual details of said leaks), plusThe Conjuringis one of the most popular horror movie franchises of all time, and it has plenty of content that would translate well to theDead by Daylightexperience.
So far,Dead by Daylighthas crossed over with numerous horror movie franchises.Hellraiseris the most recent example, butDead by Daylighthas also had crossovers withScream,A Nightmare on Elm Street, and even thehit Netflix seriesStranger Things.
There are still some horror movie icons that have eludedDead by Daylight. One of the most notorious examples has to beJason Voorhees ofFriday the 13thfame. Initially, Jason was the star of his own asymmetric multiplayer horror game calledFriday the 13th: The Game, and since then rights to the character have proven to be a legal mess, to say the least. This has kept newFriday the 13thcontent from being produced, including movies and video games.
Dead by Daylightis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
