Sun Breathing is, quite easily, the most important form of breathingin the world ofDemon Slayer. It was the first breathing form to ever be created and all the other Breathing Styles that fans have seen in the story are directly or indirectly derived from it. This form of Breathing is known to the Kamado Family and only passed on from a father to a son, along with the Hanafuda earrings.

Over the course of the story, fans have been introduced toa few users of Sun Breathingand it is needless to say that the vast majority of them are very powerful. Being the first Breathing Style in existence, Sun Breathing is essentially a legendary form of breathing and only a few can bring out its powers to use in combat, with even fewer being strong enough to master it to the utmost best.
4Sumiyoshi
Sumiyoshi was introduced to the fans in a flashback in the manga and, there, it was revealed that he was an ancestor of the Kamado Family. He also knew Yoriichi very well, which is one of the reasons why he was able to master Sun Breathing as well. While fans did not get to see much of him, after Tanjiro’s big fight against Gyutaro and Daki, he got access to a memory fragment of Sumiyoshi and in it, he was seen interacting with Yoriichi, the first Sun Breathing user.
It is heavily implied that Sumiyoshi is a user of Sub Breathing, or Hinomaki Kagura, as the style is passed down from one member of the Kamado Family to another. In his case, the moves were directly passed on to him by Yoriichi, along with the earrings. His proficiency in Sun Breathing has not been revealed to the fans, however, it can be assumed that he was very powerful.

3Tanjuro Kamado
Given that Sun Breathing is passed on from a father to a child, it is no surprise to know that Tanjiro’s father, Tanjuro, was also a user of the legendary form of breathing known as Sun Breathing. Tanjuro first made his introduction in the very first chapter of the manga, however, his full appearance didn’t come until much later in the story. While Tanjuro was certainly not the strongest in the series, thanks to his old, aging, and frail body, he was still very impressive and a decent user of Hinomaki Kagura.

He was seen being able to slay a bear withouta Nichirin Swordand that is certainly very impressive for anyone, especially a sick man such as himself. Tanjuro was not a Demon Slayer, yet he was still very impressive. Overall, his main role in the story was to pass down the Sun Breathing style to his son, Tanjiro, and he successfully completed his job in that regard.
2Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado is the protagonistofDemon Slayerand, being a member of the Kamado Family, also a user of the legendary Sun Breathing. Although Tanjiro initially learned Water Breathing from Urokodaki, he later managed to tap into the powers of Sun Breathing as well. Tanjiro was taught Sun Breathing by none other than his own father, Tanjuro. As Tanjiro grew stronger, he quickly realized that he could not become as good ofa master of Water Breathingand Urokodaki, since his body was more suited to Hinomaki Kagura instead.
With time, he mastered all of its techniques and even though it placed a great amount of stress on his body initially, training saw to it that he got more used to Sun Breathing. Tanjiro is among the strongest Sun Breathing users seen in the series and the fact that he was able to fight the all-powerful Muzan, who is known for his tremendoous power, on an equal footing using this power is proof of that.
