With theBeyond Lightexpansion,Destiny 2filed away some of its older and underplayed content, with the intent of bringing over content that was popular in the originalDestinygame, on top of new things for players to experience. One of the legacy experiences making its way toDestiny 2is the Vault of Glass raid, though it may not be exactly as fans remember when it makes its debut in the newer game.

As revealed in an interview with Polygon, Bungie is tweaking aspects of the Vault of Glass raid for itsDestiny 2debut, as opposed to just bringing it over exactly as it is in the originalDestinygame. The thought process behind it is that Guardians are now much stronger inDestiny 2than they were inDestiny 1, with Bungie discovering that the Vault of Glass raid was way too easy withDestiny 2’s weapons and abilities.

When it comes to changing the Vault of Glass raid inDestiny 2, Bungie is looking to strike a balance. Changes will be made with the goal of making theDestiny 2Vault of Glass raidmore challenging, but Bungie doesn’t want to go too far, or else it would risk making the raid feel too different than the original version.

Bungie did not specify exactly how it would be changing the Vault of Glass raid inDestiny 2, though it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time that the raid has been changed. In fact, one of the lastDestinyupdates added anew Light Level 390 difficultyto the Vault of Glass raid, giving players of that game an especially tough challenge.

As for theDestiny 2Vault of Glass release date, that also has yet to be detailed by Bungie. All fans know so far is that theVault of Glass raid is coming toDestiny 2at some point in 2021, so fans will have to stay tuned for more information. Presumably, the Vault of Glass raid release date reveal will coincide with more information about the changes Bungie is making to it for itsDestiny 2debut, though that remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, there should be plenty of content to keepDestiny 2fans engaged while they wait to try the new version of the Vault of Glass raid. Currently,Destiny 2players are in the middle of theSeason of the Hunt, the first season to go with theBeyond Lightexpansion, with a new season set to start this coming February.
