Diablo 2: Resurrectedis slated to launch in just a couple of short weeks, and the hype from theDiablofandom has hit a fever pitch. Players new and old are taking to social media to express their excitement for the extremely highly anticipated remaster, often seen as the pinnacle of the franchise. However, one fan is seeming to have one-upped most others, creating a customDiablo 2: Resurrectedarcade cabinet.
Vicarious Visions' ambitious redux of Blizzard Entertainment’s legendaryDiablo 2releases near the end of the month, putting its release date at under two weeks at the time of writing. The game has been building excitement by steadily releasing bits of content, primarily in the form of characterclass trailers like the Barbarian and Sorceress, Druid, and more.

Posted onto the officialDiablosubreddit, a user by the handle of canhazreddit showcases his incredible custom arcade cabinet creation. The fully-functional arcade machine is covered with various artwork fromDiablo 2, with the original cover art and logo emblazoned up on the illuminated marquee. The bezel of the cabinet is also covered in a custom composite of originalDiablo 2artwork, something the creator and owner of the cabinet states is intentional. The Reddit user chose the game’s older artwork as an homage to Blizzard North, a defunct subsidiary of a pre-Activision-merged Blizzard Entertainment that were the actual creators of the originalDiablo 2.
While subtle, some eagle-eyed fans may find the control panel disjunct from the rest of the arcade cabinet’s theming, while others may find it familiar. That’s because the same cabinet made headlines earlier this year, except one designed around adifferent isometric ARPG:Hades. Gamers will notice the control panel has remained unchanged since theHadesbuild, as well as the old marquee banner sitting above theDiablo 2one.
The customDiablo 2: Resurrectedarcade cabinet is surely impressive, but it isn’t the only over-the-topDiablo 2-themed piece of gaming hardware making the rounds on the internet. Another Reddit user on the sameDiablosubreddit, SpecVengeance, recently showed off his impressive custom PC build. Not only aesthetically pleasing, the build boasts an array of respectable components like a Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3060, and NVMe storage.
WithDiablo 2: Resurrectedset to launch in just days, players are clearly gearing up for some serious gaming sessions. Whether newcomers or veterans, players may want to startbrushing up on their Runewordsif they’re interested in bringing down the Lord of Terror.
