The covetedPokemon DiamondandPearlremakes may have had their official titles revealed nearly three years ago. If the rumor detailing them turns out to be true — and it does have some authenticity behind it — then theremakes ofPokemonDiamondandPearlwill be called “Pokemon Time Diamond,” and “Pokemon Space Pearl,” respectively.
The rumor comes by way of a comment posted to 4chan back in 2017.Pokemon DiamondandPearlfans recently uncovered it and have spread it around due to its contents. Exactly who posted the comment remains a mystery, however, as it came from an anonymous source.

The comment is currently grabbing fans' attention because of its correct prediction ofPokemon SwordandShield’s official names. Again, the comment made its claim back in 2017. The Pokemon Company did acknowledgeSwordandShield’s development at this time, but it didn’t reveal their official names until 2019 with thefirstPokemon SwordandShieldtrailer. Yet, somehow, this comment perfectly divines the games' titles two years beforehand, saying, “Gen 8 games will be Pokemon Sword and Shield.”
Of course, this same comment also mentions the titles of the currentlyunannouncedPokemon DiamondandPearlremakes. Since it gotPokemon SwordandShield’s names correct, some fans don’t see why it couldn’t have gotten Time Diamond and Space Pearl right too. The names are succinct enough to work and follow the same naming scheme used by otherPokemonremakes, where they use nouns as adjectives for the original title. For example,HeartGoldandSoulSilver; they use the nouns “Heart” and “Soul” to modify the original titles “Gold” and “Silver.”
One thing that seems off about the comment is how it refers toDiamondandPearl’s remakes as Gen 8 gamesinstead of Gen 4, but its actually correct in doing this. Yes, the originalPokemon DiamondandPearlare Gen 4 games, but if their remakes — should they release right afterSwordandShield— would be part of Gen 8 because they would feature Pokemon from all the generations up to that point. For example,PokemonOmega RubyandAlpha Sapphireare remakes of Gen 3 but are Gen 6 games because they include Pokemon up to that generation.
While 4Chan can be sketchy at times, it does have a history of providing accuratePokemonleaks. For instance, the infamous"Affleck Leak" forSwordandShieldpredicted several things about the games that ended up becoming true. But of course, while the comment may have its accuracies, it should still be taken with a grain of salt.
