Exploring the village and other biomes might get complicated due to the many obstacles thrown inDisney Dreamlight Valley. Standing in the way, there are Night Thorns, Rock Piles, strange blue Round Rocks, Purple Mushrooms Clusters, and so on. Luckily, some can be removed from the beginning, like the Night Thorns, whereas others, like the Purple Mushrooms, need a bit of work and bonding with a particular character.
The Dark Experiment is one of Merlin’s many Quest inDisney Dreamlight Valleythat rewards players with an upgraded Watering Can, which removes small Clusters of Purple Mushrooms.

A Dark Experiment Quest In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To trigger the Dark ExperimentQuest inDisney Dreamlight Valley, players need to pay 5,000 Dreamlight to unlock Glade of Trust, and Merlin must be Friendship level eight. Once all requirements are checked, the Great Wizard will approach Saviors and say he has finally found a way to permanently upgrade the Watering Can. Like any other Quest, Merlin will ask for a couple of items:
Collecting 20 Mushrooms might be a bit difficult, considering one part of the Glade is inaccessible. A quick trick that players can do is toenter the Furniture option and move the Wishing Well to the blocked side of the Glade. Next, open the map and teleport using the moved Well to transport to the other side of the area.
The same thing can be done with Emeralds. These gems can be tricky to collect, so moving the Well will also unravel new mining spots. Another great tip is to hang out with aDisney Dreamlight Valleycharacterwith a Mining Bonus and a high Friendship level.
Night Shards are obtained using the shovel to dig sparkling spots that appear in random locations throughout the eight biomes. Dream Shards, however, are a lot easier to find. That’s because clearing Night Thorns, Digging Sparkling Spot, and feeding critters their favorite food all rewards Dream Shards.
Once all necessarymaterials inDisney Dreamlight Valleyare obtained, head to Merlin to upgrade the Watering Can. Now players can clear the small groups of Purple Mushrooms that reward one Mushroom upon removal.
Before the Dark Experiment Quest, another Quest called A New Enchantment allowed players to temporarily remove these Clusters of Mushrooms. It also required materials, but they were much more straightforward than the Dark Experiment ones, like Dandelions, White Daisies, and Bananas. Finally, once Merlin is friendship level 10, a final Quest will commence, resulting in the ability to remove the big Cluster of Purple Mushrooms.
