A Reddit user by the name of Disimyy posted a screenshot to theDisney Dreamlight Valleysubreddit lamenting the new Ghostly “Zero” Fox bundle. The player says that because the bundle does not feature the actual character Zero from Tim Burton’s 1993 hit movie,The Nightmare Before Christmas, they do not have hope that future companions would not be anything but reskins.
However, some players in the Reddit thread said that the Ghostly “Zero” Fox bundle may, in fact, just be a part of Gameloft’s plan. Instead of having the character purchasable rather than the reward of a questline, the release of this item allows a player’s companion to don a Halloween costume like the player can. Other fans said they suspect the reason for the bundle is because the studio may be adding aNightmare Before Christmasrealm in the future as the IP is popular. On the other hand, some believe that the developers may add Jack Skellington with a friendship quest to get Zero, with their evidence for this beinghow players got Pua fromMoana.
While most fans in the thread agree that the costume is an adorable addition to the game, especially in light of Halloween, others are upset about the pricing. The item can be bought for 3,000 Moonstones, the game’s premium currency. Since the store does not offer a 3,000 Moonstone pack, players have two options. They can either purchase the Small Moonstone Pack, which contains 1,200 Moonstones for $4.99 and the Regular Moonstone Pack for $9.99, which includes 2,500 Moonstones. Or they can make one purchase of the Big Moonstone pack, which contains 5,500 Moonstones for $19.99. Whileplayers do not need to buy microtransactionsto enjoy the game, a lot can be said about the mismatch of pricing for bundles and virtual currency.
Disney Dreamlight Valleyis now available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
