However, the circumstances of this latestModern Warfare 2uninstall may mean Dr Disrespect genuinely keeps the game off his PC.RELATED:Dr Disrespect Reacts to Bungie’s Marathon Extraction ShooterActivision recently released operator bundles based on TimTheTatman and NICKMERCS, two of the most popularCall of Dutystreamers and content creators in the world. However,NICKMERCS recently made some controversial commentsabout the LGBTQ+ community, prompting Activision to remove his bundle from the game. Dr Disrespect has responded to the controversial move to remove the NICKMERCS bundle from the game by uninstalling. DescribingModern Warfare 2as the worst game in theCall of Dutyfranchise, Dr Disrespect expressed his opinion on the situation after removing the game from his library. Dr Disrespect said that Activision’s decision was a “tough one to digest for the Two-Time.”
Dr Disrespect added that he thinks Activision andCall of Dutyneed to “apologize publicly” to NICKMERCS or bring his operator bundle back before the Doc will “consider” playingCall of Dutyagain. This comes at a time whenCall of Dutyis about to launch its Season 4of content, so the timing of the entire situation couldn’t be worse for Activision’s flagship first-person shooter franchise.
As one might imagine, there are people who support Dr Disrespect’s take and those who oppose it and agree with Activision’s decision to remove the NICKMERCS bundle. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how Activision reacts. It will definitely want the top streamers playingCall of Dutywith the Season 4 launch, but it seems unlikely that will happen now. For now, theNICKMERCSCall of Dutyoperator bundleremains unavailable in the game and no plans to bring it back have been announced at the time of this writing.
It will also be interesting to see if this Dr DisrespectCoDboycott extends to the new version of the game coming this year. While there have been reports to the contrary, rumor has it that a brand-newCall of Dutygame is dropping later this year courtesy of Sledgehammer Games. If the leaks are accurate, this new game will beModern Warfare 3, but fans should wait for an official reveal.
