Summary

Even thoughDragon’s Dogma 2has just been released, many players are wondering what comes next for this fantasy RPG. Capcom has yet to announce any form of post-launch content, and right now, the updates seem to be focused on fixing the game’s many rough edges. But once that is done, there is a strong chance that the studio has more content in mind, and there is one addition that would feel right at home inDragon’s Dogma 2.

SinceDragon’s Dogma 2is a fantasy RPG, it has pretty much all the classic fantasy classes that players would expect. There is the melee unit, the archer, the magic wielder, and the sneaky thief. Additionally, there are more powerful variants that give players even more exciting abilities to play with. But while almost all of them are fun, there is one notable absence that should be fixed with some type of post-launch update. As of now, no Vocation utilizes nature magic to decimate its foes, yet the in-game world feels like the perfect place for something like that.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Has Room for Even More Vocations Through Post-Launch Updates

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Covers Almost All the Fantasy Staples

When players start theirDragon’s Dogma 2journey, they are presented with four starting Vocations to choose from. These Vocations are the game’s version of classes, with each one representing a classic fantasy archetype. Players can take on the role of anArcher in Dragon’s Dogma 2, as well as that of a Fighter, Mage, or Thief. As they progress further, they will also be able to unlock more powerful Vocations that offer new spins on the starting four. In total, there are 10 unique ones to choose from, with each providing players a whole new way to approach combat.

While that does give players a ton of flexibility, there is still one fantasy staple sorely missing fromDragon’s Dogma 2.There is no Druid-like Vocationthat wields powerful nature magic and can shapeshift into all sorts of different animals. So many RPGs and fantasy games include classes like that, yet Capcom has left it out of the fun. Even though there are magic users to choose from, it would have been nice if one of them provided players with that Druid aesthetic. And hopefully, the game’s post-launch content can rectify that.

A Druid Feels Like the Perfect Fit For Dragon’s Dogma 2’s World

As of now, there is no news about whatDragon’s Dogma 2’s post-launch contentwill look like or if it will see the light of day at all. But if it is far more than simple bug fixes or balance patches, then Capcom needs to also consider adding in new Vocations. Specifically, a Druid-like Vocation seems like the perfect fit for this fantasy landscape. Not only is the concept a fantasy staple, but the world ofDragon’s Dogma 2is filled to the brim with a turbulent natural world that someone should be fighting to hold together.

Druids give players a pretty unique experience, as they are unlike other magic wielders. Instead of simply casting spells on their enemies, they often approach any combat encounter with the mission to preserve life. They want to ensure that whatever happens is best for the natural world and will use powerful nature-based magic to achieve that. Additionally, they often have the power to converse with the animal kingdom and become animals themselves, such asDiablo 4’s Druid becoming a wolf or bear. This helps them become closer with those they want to protect, while also giving players a powerfully fun arsenal to play with.

That concept could add a lot toDragon’s Dogma 2’s already exciting Vocation offerings. The game may already give players a ton of options to choose from, but there is always room for at least one more. And while there are likely plenty of requests for different Vocations, Druids should definitely be high up on the priority list.
