Dredge’s Figure in Purple Pursuit is initiated by speaking with the hooded figure on the south side of the island in E9, and it tasks players with catching three aquatic creatures. The third of those creatures is a Barreleye fish, and tracking one down can be a bit difficult. Fortunately, there are two spots in which fans can always find a Barreleye inDredge, and this guide is here to provide further detail on those locations.
To note, players will need a rod that is capable of fishing inAbyssalwaters to catch a Barreleye. For the unitiated, such a rod is earned upon the completion of the first half of theResearch Assistant Pursuit inDredge. That Pursuit is obtained by speaking with the Researcher in the Stellar Basin’s Old Fortress, and readers that have not yet claimed the relevant rod should make haste, as there is a window of time within which the Figure in Purple quest must be completed.

Dredge: Barreleye Locations
With a suitable rod in hand, players that are on the hunt for a Barreleye should head to thenorthwestcorner of E1or thesouthwest corner of G6. Indeed, this elusive fish can be found in both of those locations at any time, and fans must simply cast their lines into the Disturbed Abyssal Waters and reel one in. For the sake of full clarity, these two fishing spots have been marked on the following map, andDredgeplayersare free to return to the hooded figure once they have brought a Barreleye onboard.
With respect to what fans will receive for turning in a Barreleye and completing the Figure in Purple Pursuit inDredge, the reward is Pushing The Limit: Engines, a book that increases speed by 7.5% once read. While this is undoubtedly a nice bonus to activate, players should not be too upset if they are not quick enough to claim the book. Indeed, the engines that are available have plenty of power without the help of any bonuses, and fans ofLovecraftian video gamescan move at high speeds regardless of the books that they claim.
One final thing to mention is that there are three otherFigure Pursuits inDredge, and each one awards a book when completed. That said, fans should make sure to move quickly upon initiating those quests, as they are on timers just like Figure in Purple.
