Darrington Press is teaming up with The Op Games and Hasbro to put outClue: Critical Role. This new spin on the classic mystery game puts players in the shoes of the Mighty Nein–the heroes from Campaign 2 ofCritical Role–as they are embroiled in a mysterious threat during the Harvest Close Festival in the city of Zadash. The game itself features gorgeous new art of the Mighty Nein drawn by illustrators and Critters Joric_Art and Shaun Ellis, and includes seven adorable hero tokens associated with each main character.

The OP Games, also known as USAopoly, is a board game publisher best known for itspop culture reskins of classic board games likeClue. Though its claim to fame is with releases ofMonopoly, it has done special versions of dozens of board games, ranging fromCodenamestoJenga. It has even worked with bothD&DandCritical Rolebefore–The OP Games released aDungeons and Dragons–themedMonopoly,Clue, andYahtzeein the past, and sells severalCritical Rolepuzzles, a Rubik’s Cube, and aMunchkinexpansion.

Critical Rolefans across the globe were ecstatic to hear aboutClue: Critical Role’simminent release. ConsideringClueis nearing its 75-year anniversary, it is no exaggeration to say that several generations grew up with the classic mystery game. Clue has inspired mystery-themed games for years,includingHearthstone’supcoming expansion,Murder at Castle Nathria. The charming, beloved cast of Campaign 2 are also a perfect pick for the board game, especially because of the running gag with Nott and Jester’s detective agency.

Unfortunately,Clue: Critical Roleis only slated for release in the United States and Canada shops right now, much to the dismay of fans overseas. The board game does not currently have a release date, but it will likely drop within the next month or two.
