To get to Astel, players need toprogress through Ranni’s questline, which means that they need to defeat General Radahn of Caelid, Royal Knight Lorreta in Caria Manor, and collect the hidden treasure of Nokron, the Fingerslayer Blade. This will activate the Sending Gate to Ainsel River Main in Renna’s Rise, and allow players to travel to the Eternal City Nokstella, located in the northern part of the river.
Killing theBaleful Shadow will allow entrance to the Lake of Rot.
