AnElden Ringfan has remade a miniature Leyndell Royal Capital in stunningly beautiful detail by hand. Leyndell is an important location inElden Ring, being home to the Erdtree and several of the major boss fights. The location, while reminiscent of someLord of the Ringslocations, or evenDark Souls’ Anor Londo, is immediately recognizable and well known for its beauty.Leyndell is a densely packed city with tons of buildings, allowing players to cautiously explore the beautiful city, ortrap a massive dragon in a building.Elden Ring, much like its Soulsborne ancestors, makes use of clever etymological namesakes for locations, character, and items. The name Leyndell could be seen as a mutation of the uncommon name Lyndell, which means “linden tree hill,” the linden tree being important in producing nectar vital for honey. A theme that is reflected in the Leyndell housing the golden Erdtree, and the Royal Capital’s gilded rooftops.RELATED:Elden Ring Player Beats Malenia With Unupgraded Weapon At Level 1Elden Ringfan and hand-cut paper miniaturist, Sky Burkson, has recreated a beautifully detailed slice of that city featuring the iconic golden roofs. The segment, made primarily out of paper, bits of basswood, toothpicks, clear resin, and floral wire, features several detailed layers. The sculpture even shows the sewers below the city, and has a strayfingercreeper which has also been seen in real life. Living up to the name of “miniature” and much likeElden Ringitself, the model features a lot of minute details that require the observer to look with close attention, such as a tiny Goldmask in the distance.
Sky Burkson has also uploaded their design sketches to Twitter, which are beautiful in their own right, and for many would serve well as a final piece of art. While the miniaturist has lent their skilled hands to crafting other amazing models for games such asBreath of the WildandHollow Knight, the dedication put into the Leyndell model goes to show how influential thetwenty million copy sellingElden Ringhas proven to be. This powerful influence and dedication from fans marks the title as an instant-classic. Much like other instant-classics, such asFinal Fantasy 7, it can be assumed that fans will continue to show their respect forElden Ringin these amazing fan-made creations for years to come.
In a similar vein, one fan madeamazing miniatures ofElden Ringcharacterslast year including Corhyn and Radagon. As they were made by two different artists, the sizes of the Leyndell miniature and the characters likely don’t match, but together fuel the imagination for anElden Ringboard game replete with precise and fine detail. With the promise of DLC some time in the future, and the continued success ofElden Ringpaired with the continued hard work from talented fans, it could be only a matter of time until someone makes a miniature to rival the official board game release.
