A level 1Elden Ringplayer has managed to beat the difficult Draconic Tree Sentinel using only fist weapons. InElden Ring, there is almost no end to the build possibilities a single player can attempt. With so many options to experiment with, it can be overwhelming. Yet the results can be fun for many players, like oneElden Ringplayer that took on the Fire Giant with a Squidward build. While most players' first builds will be utilizing the regular melee weapons, like the greatsword builds, orElden Ring’s most powerful magics, there is something to be said about the fist weapons in the game, as one player figured out during their fight.
The Draconic Tree Sentinel is a version of the regular Tree Sentinel boss, a fight most players know as one of the first things they try to fight upon entrance intoElden Ring’s open world. While the Tree Sentinel itself can be a challenge to overcome, the Draconic Tree Sentinel can be even worse, and for players wanting to get into Leyndell, Royal Capital, this can be a problem. With heavy melee attacks that can slice a player in two, to theirranged magic attacks to deter anyElden Ringplayers attempting to cheese, the Draconic Tree Sentinel is a worthy adversary to have.

Yet, oneElden Ringplayer was able to defeat one of these bosses with only fist weapons, and while someplayers have managed to beatElden Ringwith just their fists, not many have done so at Rune Level 1. Posting on r/Eldenring, user SeraphenSven uploaded a clip of them taking on the Draconic Tree Sentinel utilizing the Iron Ball fist weapons, which only seem to be dropped by Blackguard Big Boggart. In the clip, the player is able to mostly avoid all of the Draconic Tree Sentinel’s attacks, beating down on them every chance they get. While they do get close to nearly succumbing to one of the boss' attacks, they manage to recover and come back, finishing the fight.
In the comments, many users are seeing a trend where players are finding new ways to defeat the Draconic Tree Sentinel. Others note that fist weapons are actually pretty powerful, as seen with players who have been able to take down bosses likeElden Ring’s Godskin Duo with just their fists. The only real problem with them is the range, which can be an issue with some bosses.
This is the best part ofElden Ring’s combat, being able to play through the game with any build. The same goes for magic users too, as someElden Ringplayers with low intelligenceare finding surprising success with magic builds, further showcasing the versatility of the game’s build system. There are seemingly no limitations, and there is always a way to get through a challenging boss.
