After a lengthy hiatus, James Cameron’sAvatarfranchise is back and bigger than ever. Despite releasing 13 whole years after the original,Avatar: The Way of Waterthrived at the box office, currently sitting at the number three spot on the list of highest-grossing movies of all time. The desire for moreAvataris clearly there, but for some reason, Ubisoft’sAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorais still taking its sweet time.

Announced all the way back in 2017,Avatar: Frontiers of Pandorahas been in development for almost as long asAvatar: The Way of Waterhad been, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. While Ubisoft hasslatedAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorafor a 2023-2024 fiscal year releasewindow, that window is an extremely general one, and Ubisoft has done little to convince fans that the game is anywhere near completion. But while official information onAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorais very scarce, that doesn’t mean fans can’t find some information elsewhere.

Every Leak and Rumor Surrounding Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora So Far

Leaks are nothing new to the gaming industry, but they are becoming much more prevalent. As is the case with just about any high-profile AAA game nowadays, it’s a minor miracle if its gameplay, story details, or release date aren’t leaked weeks before they’re set to be officially announced. ThoughAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoramanaged to avoid these leaks for quite a while, the last few months have brought three separate rounds of leaks, all of which come from one source, ScriptLeaksR6.

ScriptLeaksR6 is the same source behind theAssassin’s Creed Miragekey art leakthat turned out to be true, and they’ve taken to Reddit and Twitter several times over the past few months to leak a handful ofAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoradetails. While all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, these don’t seem too far-fetched. The first leak hit the internet on Jul 13, 2025, and detailed a pre-order bonus forAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoracalled “The Child of Two Worlds Pack,” containing a cosmetic character set and a weapon skin. This leak included an image of the pre-order bonus, giving fans a look at the two cosmetics, which seemingly give the player’s Na’vi character a red shoulder pad, and a skin for their assault rifle that gives it blue and yellow highlights.

The most meatyAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoraleakoccurred just a few days later on March 27. This time, ScriptLeaksR6 dropped two alleged in-game screenshots, both of which have since been taken down by Ubisoft. The first of these screenshots seems to show a brief snippet of gameplay, with the player controlling a Na’vi from a first-person perspective. The player-character wields an assault rifle while an RDA AMP mech suit walks toward them, moving away from an explosion in the background. The second screenshot appears to be from an in-game cinematic, showing a Na’vi character flying a Banshee toward a small lake.

On July 21, 2025, ScriptLeaksR6 dropped another sizableAvatar: Frontiers of Pandoraleak, which was a summary of the game’s features, seemingly lifted from an official, currently unreleased press document. This summary confirms that the player will be controlling a Na’vi who was captured by the RDA at a young age and forced to fight alongside them, which ties in nicely with the previously leaked pre-order bonus' mention of a “Child of Two Worlds.”

Thestory ofAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorawill apparently see the player’s Na’vi reconnecting with their people, and joining clans to fight against the RDA in the brand new Western Frontier region. This leaked summary also confirms that players will be able to wield Na’vi weapons like a bow and spear-thrower, along with RDA weapons like a shotgun and assault rifle. Character customization, a crafting system, and skill trees are all also mentioned, along with the ability to tame a Banshee for both traversal and aerial combat.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandorais in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
