Before the official release of the newestPokemongames,Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans datamined crucial information about Gen 9. Leakers got their hands on a ROM of the game and were able to peruse the game files for interesting information. These files revealed a lot of things about the game before launch, like the regional Pokedex, the evolutions ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, new designs not yet revealed by GameFreak, and more. Among the leaks were the transferable Pokemon that could be traded up to the Paldea region to join trainers in their new adventures.
Just like inGen 7 andPokemon SwordandShield, the National Dex will not be available for players. Not every Pokemon from every region will be available and only a select list of mons will be able to be transferred fromPokemon HometoPokemon Scarlet and Violet. There was a lot of uproar about the removal of the National Dex in bothPokemon Sun and MoonandPokemon Sword and Shield, but it’s the status quo now, so fans have accepted it more. However, having some Pokemon removed can be good for balance in competitive formats.

Every Transferable Gen 1 Pokemon Available in Scarlet and Violet
Including different forms and variants of Pokemon from the list of transferable mons fromPokemon Homethere are 162 different pocket monsters available to bring up into the Paldea region. Some of the Pokemon that were originally thought to be only available through transferring have been made available in seven-star Raids like Charizard, Cinderace, and soon to bePokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Tera Poison Greninja. So, some more of these Pokemon could be made available at some point, but these are the mons not included in the regional Pokedex that were found in the files of the game.
Pikachu is of course in the base game, as the series mascot it’s unlikely to see it not included. However, in previous generations there were Pikachu adorned with 8 different hats. These hats were purely cosmetic, but are some of the most sought after forms of Pikachu. Trainers who have these electric mice will be pleased to find out that all 8 hat forms are supported inPokemon Scarlet and Violetand have updated models. The Alolan regional form of Pikachu’s evolution Raichu will be supported too. Pikachu will not be able to evolve intoAlolan Raichuin Paldea, but if trainers have one from their adventures in the Alola region they can trade it into the Paldea Region.
The Alolan variants of Meowth, Persian, Diglett, Dugtrio, Grimer, and Muk will also be available. The Galarian form ofMeowth and Perrserkercan be transferred up as well, but it is already available in the base game. The Galarian Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking forms will also represent the Galar region inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are also included in both their Kantonian and Galarian forms. Other Kantonian Pokemon available are the Hisuian forms of Growlithe, Arcanine, Voltorb, and Electrode, as well as the Legendaries Mew and Mewtwo.
Every Transferable Gen 2 and 3 Pokemon Available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Johtonian Pokemon aren’t getting too much representation in the transfers with the only starter from the region available being the Cyndaquil line.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s version of Hisuian Typhlosionwill also be obtainable in game and has potential to be one of the best fire types in the games. The only other Johtonian mons that will be available are the Hisuian forms of Qwilfish and Sneasel and their evolutions, Overqwil and Sneasler.
Continuing the underrepresentation of old non-Kanto regions sees the only Hoenn Pokemon available being the Box Legendaries forPokemon Ruby,Sapphire,andEmerald. Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza are great Pokemon, but many trainers' favoritePokemonregion is Hoenn. Seeing no other Pokemon from that region could be sad especially considering the Generation 3 starters are among the most popular in the series.

Every Gen 4 and 5 Pokemon Available in Scarlet and Violet
The Sinnoh region is also getting none of its starters inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, but a lot of the region’s Legendaries will be handy to players that have them. The Lake Guardians Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf, both forms ofPalkia, Dialga, and Giratinaare supported, Heatran, Cresselia, and all 18 forms of Arceus are supported. The Legendary Plate is in the game, but there are sprites for every form of Arceus. Right now it is unclear how players would get Arceus to change types, but the sprites indicate that there will be some way to change its type in the game.
Unova only gets one starter line supported with Oshawott, Dewott, and Samurott. Similarly to Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott will be supported as well, though neither Dewott nor Quilava will be evolving into the Hisuian forms of their evolutions. For every regional form, trainers would have to evolve the Pokemon in the original region. The lines with regional forms that are both the first and last stage, those can be evolved in Paldea.Pokemon like Hisuian Lilligant, Basculin, Basculegion, Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark can also be transferred fromPokemon Legends: Arceus. The Genies are supported in both their Therian and default forms, and Meloetta will be the final Unovan mon available.
Every Transferable Gen 6 and 7 Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet
All the starters from Kalos will be available. Greninja is the next seven-star Raid boss, but Chespin, Quilladin, Chesnaught, Fennekin, Braixen, and Delphox will all be supported with new models inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. It is one of only two regions with every starter line supported. Also, GameFreak has changed the way Battle Bond works, soPokemon’s unique form of Ash-Greninjawill no longer be supported in the game. Though Vivillon is already in the game, there are sprites for the forms only found in Kalos, so players can transfer them up. Carbink and Diancie will be supported. Hisuian Avalugg will be another mon that can be transferred up. Hoopa is supported both in its base and Unbound forms. Volcanion and Magearna are the last two Kalos Pokemon supported.
Alola has only one line that is not a regional form of an older Pokemon. That line is Rowlett, Dartrix, and Decidueye. Alola doesn’t get much love in these leaks, but VGC players may be happy to seeIncineroar absent fromPokemon Scarlet and Violetbased on the datamines. They will not have to worry about it being used on the majority of teams. The Hisuian form of Decidueye will also be supported just like the other starters from Hisui.
Every Transferable Gen 8 and Pokemon Legends: Arceus Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet
The Galarian starters join Kalosian starters as the only other region that will have all 3 of its options supported inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Cinderace has already been featured in Tera Raids, but the Rillaboom and Inteleon lines might get their own raids too.Zacian and Zamazentawill be available, but they have been nerfed since their peaks inPokemon Sword and Shield. Eternatus, Kubfu, and Urshifu are supported. Zarude is supported. Regieleki and Regidrago are the only two Regis available for trainers wanting them. Glastrier, Spectrier, and Calyrex are all supported with Rider being available on top of their base forms.
Finally, the Hisui region has many native Pokemon supported. Not only is nearly every Hisuian form supported, but the new evolutions are also supported.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Ursalunawill be available and is going to be among the best Pokemon. Kleavor, Wyrdeer, and Enamorus are all also part of the roster.
