It may feel like years have passed since the initial launch ofKingdom Hearts 3all the way back in January 2019, but the game is in the midst of a renaissance now that the bigReMINDDLC content has arrived. Players who purchase the DLC gain access to new adventures,new powerful Keyblades, and perhaps most exciting of all, new playable characters.
KingdomHearts 3keeps the focus on Sora and his immediate company through most of the game’s chapters, but it’s not unusual for aKingdom Heartstitle to jump around between characters a bit and introduce some other playstyles.ReMINDdefinitely embraces that history and adds to the list of playable characters in the Disney/Square Enix collaborative adventure.

The list of playable characters isn’t incredibly long, but does include some interesting variety and players should get a kick out of tackling different chapters as different powerful heroes. First off, Sora is obviously back. The hero ofKingdom Hearts 3hasn’t retired yet and is playable in various chapters throughout theReMINDDLC. Like in the core game, Sora also is joined by a variety of supporting allies throughout this content.

During her appearance,KHprotagonist Soraremains as an ally to Princess of Heart. She is equipped with Destiny’s Embrace and has access to Blitz and Seven Wishes.

During Land of Departure and Keyblade Graveyard,Aqua is a playable character. Expect Ventus and Sora to appear as allies in support of this Keyblade Master. Aqua appeared briefly inKingdom Hearts 3proper and is back for the DLC and equipped with Rainfell and the Spell Weaver command.
Aqua was one of the main protagonists ofKingdom Hearts Birth by Sleepand has appeared in a lengthly list of the spin-off titles over the years since her first appearance.

Fans of Roxas may be sad to hear that the character is only playable during the Keyblade Graveyard. Roxas is available during the Graveyard chapter and equipped with Oblivion & Oathkeeper in addition to Xion and Axel as allies.

For now, those are all of the additional playable characters who have shown up in theKingdom Hearts 3 ReMINDDLC. If the content performs well, perhaps there will be more on the way and players can continue to play around in this massive and outrageous sandbox of drama and adventure.
In addition to the additional playable characters, there is a lot of other new content for players to explore in the DLC. The purchase adds a new scenario that takes place after the main game’s conclusion, the return of someFinal Fantasycharacters, new bosses, and a photo mode that offers players the chance to take their favorite characters to specific locations and setup photo shoots. The new content also contains multiple endings (both a good and a bad ending, of course), so some players may want to take the time to play through the content multiple times to see how things turn out in each scenario.
