In the Warrior of Light and the Scions' newest adventure, a multitude of new characters are introduced who become highly influential and meaningful as the story devolves into utter chaos. Several of these characters either undergo dramatic transformations or add plenty of entertainment value toDawntrail’sMSQ.

A Goofy Handyman Who Is Always There To Aid Wuk Lamat

InFF14’s Dawntrail,Wuk Evuis a characterwho offers a lot of comedic value, as the goofy handyman becomes a trusted ally of Wuk Lamat early into the rite of succession contest. Evu’s nervy interactions with the Third Promise provide a lot of comedic relief, with Evu coming off as endearing and sweet through his behavior towards Lamat.

Even with his social awkwardness, Evu manages to give sage advice to Lamat throughout the contest, particularly in Yak T’el, where Evu teaches Lamat about the war between the Mamool Ja and the Xbr’aal. Evu is always on hand to aid Lamat, helping the Third Promise progress in the contest and as a character.

Militant Warrior Keen On Inflicting War

One character central to all the storylines inDawntrailis the son of Gulool Ja Ja,Zoraal Ja, who, from the very start, harbors ambitions to inflict warfare on Tural and the rest of the world. When competing in the rite of succession, this character hits a stumbling block in Lamat, which causes him to lose the contest despite his raw strength as a warrior. to achieve his goals, Zoraal Ja reaches the Golden City, leading to his pact with Queen Sphene, which allows the Dawnservant’s son to control a technologically advanced army hailing from Alexandria.

Despite his devastating actions that see Tuliyollal damaged and his father murdered, Zoraal Ja’s plan to conqueris halted by Lamat, the Scions, and the Warrior of Light, leaving the king of Alexandria to perish with his son Gulool Ja right by his side.

Intelligent Scholar That Aims To Bring Advanced Technology To Tural

As the Second Promise of Tural,Koanasought to succeed his adoptive father, Gulool Ja Ja, as Tural’s Dawnservant.The Miqo’te and Machinist foresawhis nation’s future as heavily rooted in technology, which he hoped to bring from overseas, with Koana spending time studying in Old Sharlayan.

After advancing through the rite of succession competition, the headstrong Koana saw that the rightful successor to his father should be his sister, Lamat, and decided to back his sister’s claim. When Lamat claims the title of Dawnservant, she makes Koana Dawnservant alongside her to fulfill the title of Vow of Reason. In the defense of Tuliyollal, Koana heroically leads the efforts as his sister heads to the dome to deal directly with their brother, Zoraal Ja.

Protagonist That Seeks To Claim The Throne To Preserve Peace In Tural

InDawntrail,Lamatis the expansion’s main protagonist, with players playing second fiddle to the exuberant and enthusiastic Hrothgar. The Warrior of Light and the Scions become involved in events in Tural when Lamat, the daughter of King Galool, competes in a rite of succession to take up the mantle of ruler, with the Third Promise recruiting Eorzea’s heroes to aid her in saving Tural.

While being ever eager and emotional, Lamat goes through trials and tribulations that build her into a rightful and deserving monarch, becoming Tural’s leader while also saving them from Zoraal Ja and Sphene’s evil plots.

A Loyal And Caring Knight Who Wishes To Protect Royalty

When it comes to honor and valor, no character is more chivalrous than the knightSer Otis Velona, who served Alexandria for several hundred years. Serving under Sphene in Alexandria’s glory days, Otis continues his chivalry when he is introduced as Gulool Ja’s protector, the son of the reigning king, Zoraal Ja.

Otis' appearance resembles a robot, with the character being used as a test subject in service of Sphene. Despite Otis saving Sphene, which leads to his demise,the character returns in Living Memory, where Otis’s human form is shown to entertain endless children, reminiscent of his time spent with Gulool Ja.

Loving Mother Who Helps To End Sphene’s Plan At The Cost Of Her Existence

InDawntrail,Cahciuais one of the many character additions that bring a sense of charm to the story, with the character’s love for her son Erenville proving both comedic and sweet.Cahciua is introduced as a machinewho leads the resistance group, Oblivion, which seeks to challenge Zoraal Ja’s rule over their land. Despite her disquieting appearance to Erenville, Cahciua harbors a lot of joy and energy as she becomes involved in Lamat and the Scions' plans.

After reaching Living Memory, Cahciua’s true form is shown, revealing that the character is an endless person, perishing years before Lamat and her company arrive in the dome. In her final moments before being shut down, Cahciua spends time with Erenville, as the pair share an emotional farewell before Sphene and her world are put to an end.

Contender For The Throne Who Tries To Rectify His Mistakes

Bakool Ja Jais a character with no morals or honor at the start of theDawntrailMSQ, with the Mamool Ja seeking to become Dawnservant through chaos and corruption. As Bakool competes against Lamat, Koana, and Zoraal Ja in the rite of succession,Bakool sets up traps and tries to intimidate his opponentsinto submission throughout the competition, with the character even going as far as releasing Valigarmanda from its slumber.

After losing to Lamat in battle, Bakool begins to see the fault in his actions, with the chosen one going on to rectify his mistakes. From that point on, Bakool spearheads the campaign to end blessed sibling births, and comes to Tuliyollal’s aid when Zoraal Ja and the Alexandrians strike, starting afresh as a comrade of Lamat.

A Kind Queen Whose Mission To Save Her People Led To Her Demise

From the outset,Queen Sphene, the ruler of the Alexandrian empire, was a character of mystery and intrigue. On the surface, she was a kind and considerate monarch who put her citizens first, although this would lead to her eventual downfall. When the reflections of Alexandria and Tural submerge, Sphene acts friendly to Lamat and the Scions despite harboring plans to eliminate Tural to further sustain the lives of endless humans in Living Memory.

Despite dealing with Zoraal Ja’s rule, Sphene almost achieves her goalbefore the Warrior of Light stops her. Even right up until her final moments, Sphene’s love for her people endured, with the Queen’s resolve proving unquestionable as she sought to save her kingdom.

A Legendary And Wise Monarch Who Could Hold His Own In Combat

As the Dawnservant of Tural,Gulool Ja Jareigns as a peaceful and heroic leader, with his past endeavors in his younger years leading his country to unite behind him. Gulool’s unification of Tural, with the help of his comrades, saw the Dawnservant entrap the legendary fiend Valigarmanda,showcasing Gulool’s fierce combat abilities.

Gulool’s valor and strength in battle are further shown in his fights with Estinien, The Warrior of Light, and his son Zoraal Ja, whom the Dawnservant kills, but not before Zoraal revives himself using Alexandrian technology to slay his father. Despite his strength in battle, Gulool’s most significant contribution were his words of wisdom, which aided many, with Lamat, Koana, and Krile all finding meaning in the Dawnservant’s teachings.
