Final Fantasy 14is about to bring back the Make It Rain Campaign–its glamorous Golden Saucer event. Once the limited-time campaign begins,Final Fantasy 14players can earn massive amounts of MGP, participate in a fun new side quest, and earn an amazing minion.

The Make It Rain Campaign is an event centered around the Gold Saucer,Final Fantasy 14’smini-game playground. Though the exact dates have been flexible since its introduction in 2017, theannualFinal Fantasy 14eventusually takes place in June and July.

Now, the Make It Rain Campaign is returning for 2023. From June 30 until July 17, all MGP earnings from mini-games, events, and the Cactpot are increased by 50%. Additionally, a selection of items can be purchased from the Gold Saucer at a discounted MGP rate. Once they unlock the Gold Saucer at level 15, players can also complete a quest from Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah to earn a wind-up minion of Godbert Manderville, thegentlemanly proprietor of the Gold Saucer inFinal Fantasy 14.

For the duration of the Make It Rain Campaign, various NPCs fromFinal Fantasy 14can be randomly found around the Gold Saucer. While players can’t interact with them, they often have charming text bubbles and interactions with each other, so fans should keep an eye out for their personalfavoriteFinal Fantasy 14characterswhile earning heaps of MGP.

Kipih Jakkya is an in-game newspaper journalist players have seen several times before, most notably during the in-game crossovers withFinal Fantasy 13and15. Naoki Yoshida, director and producer ofbothFinal Fantasy 14and the newly-releasedFinal Fantasy 16, has heavily hinted at a crossover between his two games, so players could possibly run into her again in such an event.

The Make It Rain Campaign’s end date might also be a hint as to when players might expect new content inFinal Fantasy 14. July 17 is around two monthsafterFF14Patch 6.4was released, so the event’s conclusion could coincide with Patch 6.45. This mid-season update will add the Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeon, an expansion to the Blue Mage limited job, and a continuation Hildibrand’s hijinks and its associated Manderville Relic Weapon questline. Were that not exciting enough, the first date forFinal Fantasy 14’sFan Festival is less than two weeks after. Considering players can almost certainly expectFinal Fantasy 14to announce its next expansion during Fan Fest, the next month is going to be big for fans of the critically-acclaimed MMORPG.
