With just a few weeks to go until Patch 6.3,Final Fantasy 14released a few new details about what players can expect when the update is released. The news comes with just a week to go untilFinal Fantasy 14hosts another edition of Letter from the Producer Live.In theprevious episode of Letter from the Producer Live,Final Fantasy 14game director and producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida and global community producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi went over what players can expect in Patch 6.3, titled “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble.” With new main story content, including a new dungeon and trial, a new 24-player alliance raid, and job balance updates that include significant changes for paladins, Patch 6.3 looks to be a significant update to end the current content drought in the game.RELATED:Final Fantasy 14 Announces Winners of Endwalker’s Weapon Design ContestOn December 15,Final Fantasy 14pulled back the curtain on a special site dedicated to Patch 6.3. The special site added some new details and new images of what players can expect soon. Previously, in Patch 6.2, “Buried Memory,” players were introduced to the mysterious Zero,a voidsent denizen of the Thirteenth Shardthat players explored as part of the main story quests. Following some bargains and some battles, Zero joined the Warrior of Light and their comrades back in the Source world. When the update goes live, players will delve deeper into the history of Garlemald, and face off with a scythe-wielding marionette, in the new dungeon called Lapis Manalis. The unnamed marionette, and the patch’s key art, were among the new images featured on the special site. The key art showed the Warrior of Light and Zero looking respectively into the distance and directly at the fourth wall, each clad in the armor of a paladin and a reaper.
Final Fantasy 14Patch 6.3 will be released in early January 2023, with a definitive release date likely announced as part of the upcoming Live Letter broadcast. The broadcast is scheduled for Friday, December 23, at 3 AM PST, and will go into additional detail about what gameplay changes are coming for paladins. The broadcast will likely include additional details about the Euphrosyne alliance raid, whichdrew comparisons to Windows XPfollowing the last Live Letter.
However, players will have plenty of content to tide them over until then. Between the return of the Starlight Celebration andthe ongoing Moogle Treasure Trove event, there is plenty to do and plenty to prepare for in the world ofFinal Fantasy 14.
