The latest entry in theBorderlandsfranchise,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, released on March 25. Though technically a spin-off revolving around the popularBorderlandscharacter Tiny Tina, the new game seems to have as much content as a mainline title in the franchise. Focusing around the fantasy world fans may be familiar with from theTiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC forBorderlands 2, the latest entry in the franchise fleshes out the place of Tina’s imagination, transporting players to a differentBorderlandsexperience from what they may be used to.
With plenty of looting and shooting, though,Borderlandsfans are sure to recognize the features ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsas soon as they load the game up. Apart from the typical gameplay of shooting enemies with a vast amount of explosions and elemental effects, jokey dialogue, and the cell-shaded graphics fans usually associate withBorderlands,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsalso features free loot for players in the form of SHiFT codes.

SHiFT codes are used to give players ofBorderlandsgames keys that they can use to open up a chest found in the hub area of each game. Once opened, the chest provides players with some rare and valuable loot, though it is important to note that the loot given in SHiFT code keys scales alongside the player’s level, so some may want to hold off on rapidly opening chests in the early levels of a game.Borderlands 3is still seeing SHiFT codes being given outto players to access free loot.
With the beginning ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlands,though,Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchfordhas kicked off the gifting of SHiFT codes to players, releasing the first for free loot inTiny Tina’s Wonderlandson his Twitter account. The code is good for one Skeleton Key, which acts as the equivalent of the Golden Keys found inBorderlands 2and3. This SHiFT code does have a time limit for players, though, and will only work up until March 31, meaning for any player who’s looking to wait before they purchase the game, they may be out of luck.

Besides giving players a new part-time job of looking up when new SHiFT codes will drop,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsoffers four unique characters to play from, as well as a new story and setting for players to explore. There are some returning favorites in the game, too, as the world is based on the imagination and mind of Tiny Tina. For any player looking to speedrun through the game as well, Gearbox has mapped out howendgame content will work inTiny Tina’sWonderlands, meaning that the game doesn’t end as the story does.
