Today, the long-rumored, Marvel-themed season ofFortnitecontent was revealed. In the reveal, numerous Marvel superheroes were featured as unlockable skins within the game, and according to a recent leak, Silver Surfer will also be coming toFortnitein the near future.
Silver Surfer is one of the few Marvel heroes who has yet to be seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with theFortnitecrossover event pulling from Marvel comics as opposed to the films, his appearance in the game makes sense. He will be joining the likes of Iron Man, Wolverine, and She-Hulk as part of theMarvel-filled Season 4 battle pass, though it looks like there is a bit more than just a skin for the hero.

In a tweet fromFortniteleaker FortTory, a Silver Surfer pack was decrypted and shown in its entirety. The character looks exactly as he should, with his metallic body shining as if the hero was ripped right off the page. The pack also includes a Silver version ofFortnite’spickaxe as well as the hero’s trademark board, showing that some thought was put into the character’s appearance. This should also be an indicator that the hero will be purchased using V-bucks,which were recently lowered in price, whenever he arrives in the game.
A Silver Surfer appearance makes sense given the reveal of Galactus within theMarvel event’s launch trailer, as the characters' stories are tied to one another throughout their history in the comics. Silver Surfer originally served the destroyer of worlds, but broke free from Galactus’ control and will often be seen fighting the character. Usually, whenever the Marvel universe needs help with Galactus, Silver Surfer is who they call upon.
Whether Silver Surfer comes into play within the actual story of the event is unclear, though it seems likely given how much care theFortniteteam has put into this fourth season of Chapter 2 content. AFortniteand Marvel tie-in comic was even released ahead of the official reveal, offering context as to how the Marvel heroes made their way into theFortniteuniverse. TheFortnitemap has seen a massive Marvel makeoveras part of the themed season as well.
With players already having todefeat Doctor Doom himself inFortnite, the event will clearly be full of thrilling content for every Marvel fan. When Silver Surfer will actually release is unclear at this time, though it is exciting to know for sure that the cosmic hero will be coming to the game as well.
