This crossover is the latest announced by Epic Games in a long list of collaborations betweenFortniteand other popular franchises, offering players the opportunity to play as their favorite character from other games, anime, movies, or most pop culture references.

The first collaboration with Spider-Man dates back to December 2021 and the release of the Chapter 3: Season 1 Battle Pass and three versions of Spider-Man’s suit. The No Way Home Set brought Zendaya’s MJ and Tom Holland’s Spidey toFortnite, with a new unmasking emote. Chapter 3: Season 3 introduced Spider-Man Zero, as part of the Zero War alongside Wolverine and Iron Man.Spider-Gwen joinedFortnitein the Chapter 3: Season 4 Battle Pass to celebrate the release of theSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseanimated movie.

Fortniteteased a new crossover with Marvel, publishing a short video on social media asking “where is Miles?” referring to Miles Morales, a Spider-Man that became popular with the animatedSpider-Versefranchise and the 2020’s action-adventure gameSpider-Man: Miles Morales. WhileFortnitealready features various Spider-Man outfits, Miles Morales is still missing from the game and would make a nice addition to the available roster of superheroes.

Besides this short video, Epic Games hasn’t revealed exactly what a crossover betweenFortniteand Miles Morales could entail. Players can expect a new skin for Spider-Man, maybe part of a bundle with new emotes and items. The comments to this announcement of a crossover betweenFortniteand Spider-Man were mostly excited, with players starting to save their V-bucks to purchase the upcoming skin. Others shared theirhype forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, scheduled to release for the PlayStation 5 in late 2023 and starring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
