Elemental Resonance is an important aspect to consider when building a team inGenshin Impact. The different effects really allow every Element to have a signature play style. For example, Hydro is often HP-centric, Geo plays with shield, while Cryo brings the permafreeze team into a massive power.

Ranking Elemental Resonance inGenshin Impactis not easy considering five out of eight of them are excellent. The Protective Canopy, Electro, and Anemo Resonance are easily three of the worst, but the Pyro, Hydro, Dendro, Cryo, and Geo are all great. Therefore, even though the five are ranked, it’s important to note that their power is close to each other, and players' team composition is more important when it comes to bringing the true power of the Resonance.

8Unique Resonance - Protective Canopy

To activate the Protective Canopy Resonance inGenshin Impact, all characters in the party should have a different Element. Once Protective Canopy is activated, players gain additional resistance to all enemy DMG. Although it may seem beneficial to have a defensive stat on all characters, it doesn’t really provide much of an effect in end-game content. For instance, when players aretackling the Spiral Abyss, their team will always be protected by either a healer or a shielder. Therefore, it’s better to have an offensive buff from the Resonance.

7Electro Resonance - High Voltage

RELATED:Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Electro

Typically,Electro users inGenshin Impactheavily rely on their Elemental Bursts, act as batteries, or both. It’s extremely rare for an Electro unit to lack either of these utilities in their kit. As a result, it’s not surprising that Electro Resonance generates energy when Electro-related reactions are triggered. The generated Energy Particles can be amazing, if not for the five seconds cooldown that disables any chance of the effect being useful in combat.

6Anemo Resonance - Impetuous Winds

Anemo Resonance activates three buffs when players include two Anemo users in one party. While Cooldown reduction isone of the rarest effects ofGenshin Impact, 5% doesn’t buff anyone. At best, it may reduce one second of the characters' cooldowns, making it unimpressive in combat.

The only useful buffs that Anemo Resonance provides are decreasing Stamina Consumption and increasing Movement SPD for the party. These two buffs can tremendously help players in navigating the massive world map.

5Cryo Resonance - Shattering Ice

RELATED:Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Cryo

The Cryo Resonance is an offensive buff that greatly benefits Cryo teams, particularly those that use the Blizzard Strayer artifact set. With a potential boost of up to 55% CRIT Rate, players canfocus on increasing their Cryo characters’CRIT DMG. Although a 15% CRIT Rate is an impressive buff, it is limited against enemies that are affected by Cryo or Frozen, which reduces its ranking against other Elemental Resonances.

4Hydro Resonance - Soothing Water

After the Hydro Resonance was reworked to increase the entire team’s HP by 25%, it has become an incredibly useful buff for players to use in their teams. Not to mention, the HP buff benefits many characters that scale with HP, making it even more valuable. For instance, a unit likeHu Tao can team up with two Hydro userssuch as Xingqiu and Yelan to increase her HP by 25%, while also having extra Hydro applications on the field.

3Dendro Resonance - Sprawling Greenery

The Dendro Resonance provides a significant buff for teams that depend on Dendro reactions inGenshin Impact. Upon activation, the Resonance immediately grants the team 50 Elemental Mastery, which can increase by another 50 when Dendro reactions are triggered. This buff of up to 100 Elemental Mastery is very useful since Elemental Mastery is the primary focus of mostDendro users inGenshin Impact.

2Pyro Resonance - Fervent Flames

The Pyro Resonance is one of the reasons why characters like Xiangling and Bennett are essential as Sub-DPS and Supports. Take anyPyro DPS inGenshin Impactand add Bennett to their team, and that’s enough to establish a team with a huge potential for DMG. Since most units scale with ATK inGenshin Impact, having the Pyro Resonance increase the team’s ATK by 25% can take their DMG to the next level.

This effect is far easier to activate than the Geo Resonance, but the damage output falls short when compared to the universal DMG bonus provided by Geo Resonance.

1Geo Resonance - Enduring Rock

There’s so much utility that the GeoResonance can add toGenshin Impactteams. While only Geo users can take full advantage of the Geo Resonance, because of the DMG bonus effect, other characters can still benefit from it. Players can pair two units that have a great synergy, like Alhaitham and Raiden Shogun, then add two Geo users that can operate as Sub-DPS or Support. The team will have easy access to an extra 15% DMG on their attacks.

Although the Geo Resonance demands a shielder for the DMG bonus to take effect, thanks to the existence of Zhongli, this wouldn’t be an issue for most players. For the second Geo, Albedo is the best sub-DPS option. If he’s not available, unfortunately, players can only use Ningguang as a sub-DPS or Yun Jin as a Normal Attack buffer.
