One of the main reasons Geo has been pushed out of the meta is that it cannot interact withGenshin Impact’s Dendro element. A concept shared by Reddit user aliteralpieceoftrash shows a new elemental reaction named Germinate, which can be triggered by combining Dendro with Geo. According to the post, triggering Germinate would apply an effect called Verdant Sprout, which accumulates damage dealt during a short period. Once the Sprout’s effect ends, it will explode, dealing a portion of the accumulated attacks as Geo damage, scaling with Elemental Mastery. The concept clarified that the main way to apply Germinate would be by dealing Geo damage to an enemy affected by Dendro, considering that most attacks cannot apply Geo aura. The Redditor also provided five different images of the reaction’s indicator, one for each of the five stages, from creation to explosion. This would allow Travelers to track Germinate’s progress and carefully time their damage bursts.
How Would Germinate Affect Genshin Impact’s Geo Characters?
This elemental reaction would significantly improve the way many DPS and supportive Geo characters perform on the field. Many ofGenshin Impact’s off-field supportslike Albedo and Zhongli would be able to constantly trigger this reaction, which would provide a significant damage boost to the whole team composition.
This elemental reaction would also address one of Geo’s most significant issues: the lack of incentive for players to include any Geo characters in theirGenshin Impactteam composition, as it can only trigger one elemental reaction, Crystallize. This reaction causes enemies to drop Elemental Shards that grant a decent shield when picked up.
The post gathered a lot of attention in the community, with many fans claiming that this is probably the best Geo rework concept they have seen so far. Many players hope that HoYoverse will make similar changes to Geo, especially considering that it has already been buffed onceduring the early stages ofGenshin Impact, back in 2021.
