Genshin Impactis filled with a colorful cast of characters that many gamers enjoy collecting and optimizing. Some players have even drawn parallels between some of the game’s most famous characters and the casts of other franchises. Now, one fan has created an intricate parody of the thirdDemon Slayeranime opening usingGenshin Impactcharacters.
Demon Slayeris one of the best recent shonen anime and fans of the series may notice some aesthetic similarities to the anime-inspired world ofGenshin Impact. However,Demon Slayerpresents viewers with a much darker storywhere beloved characters can and often do die. It may be easy to understand why fans would want to create a tribute to the series using characters more likely to survive until the end of their tale.

Redditor musicguygenshin recently shared a video parodyingDemon Slayer’s third opening, featuring the song “Zankyou Zanka” by Aimer. The opening in question plays beforeDemon Slayer’s Entertainment District arc, which takes the main characters undercover in the titular entertainment district on the search for Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui’s missing wives. The original video combines visual symbolism with beautifully choreographed action to create a striking mood. Although musicguygenshin’s recreation is slightly limited by the need to useGenshin Impactfootage, it’s also an enchanting watch.
In the video, a cover of “Zankyou Zanka” isplayed on the Windsong Lyre, with the notes appearing at the bottom of the screen throughout. The result is a lilting instrumental cover of the song that adds to the overall surreal magic of the parody. According to musicguygenshin, they used Diluc and Kazuha to fill the role of Tanjiro Kamado, Arataki Itto for Tengen, Keqing as Zenitsu, and Razor as Inosuke. The Raiden Shogun is also featured in the antagonistic role originally played by Daki and Muzan Kibutsuji.
While it may be easy to see why some characters were used in this parody, not all the parallels are so obvious.Genshin Impact’s RazorandDemon Slayer’s Inosuke are both feral children with questionable manners and unquestionable loyalty, for example, but the bold and self-reliant Keqing is quite different from the cowardly and self-loathing Zenitsu. Diluc may have the skilled swordsmanship and fiery powers of Tanjiro, but the friendly Kazuha reflects more of Tanjiro’s sunny personality. However, the brash and showy Itto is so similar to Tengen that it might be harder to find any better character to play him.
