For the most part,Ghost of Tsushimahas been incredibly well received by both fans and critics alike. It has a compelling story, an extremely satisfying gameplay loop, gorgeous visuals, and a dedication to creating ahistorically accurate representation of Japanese history. Out of everyone, though, its most avid supporters are and always have been those at the official subreddit.
Sucker Punch Productions, the studio responsible for developingGhost of Tsushima, has now made an appearance in that subreddit to personally thank them for their support. The team is both appreciative and humble, and the response from fans is just as wholesome and full of praise.

Andrew Goldfarb is the one that made the post as he heads communication at Sucker Punch. Though directcommunication between developers and fansin this capacity isn’t unheard of, it is certainly rare, so this type of interaction is always great to see.
Goldfarb opens up by thanking the fans for makingGhost of Tsushima’s launch weekend so impressive, and continues on to say that he and the team have been loving all of thephoto mode screenshotsand discussions that take place on the subreddit. Perhaps the highest praise afforded to these redditors is Goldfarb’s claim that “the people on this subreddit were some of the very earliest supporters of the game,” and he even goes so far as to say that it truly motivated the team to do the best that they could.
Sucker Punch then says it hopes thatGhost of Tsushimahas lived up to expectations, which if the comments are anything to go off of, it clearly has. The discourse surrounding the game and this post in particular is so shockingly positive that it acts as a nice break from the many toxic communities out there. Redditors in the comments share emotional experiences they’ve had with the game, disbelief for its technical accomplishment of nearly eliminating load times on current gen systems, and praise for the development team for not only making a great game but engaging with the community as well.
Goldfarb then leaves things off on a positive note, saying that he will be returning to the subreddit more often in the future with updates about the status and future of the game. Those wanting tostay up to date withGhost of Tsushimashould definitely consider joining and following along with the subreddit.
