ARC System Works has dropped a new trailer setting the scene for its much anticipated fighting game release.Guilty Gear Strive’s newest story trailer is continuing the plot of the cult classic fighting game with some beautiful visuals, and a host of star-studded voice actors portraying the game’s myriad characters.

WhileGuilty Gear Strivehas had a bumpy path to launch, this trailer further details the game’s striking animated style and bombastic combat, as well as laying down the overtures for a high-stakes story that will see battles across the world.Guilty GearStriveis pulling no punches when it comes to how wild the story can get, mixing political drama with wild match-ups as new characters Giovanna and Nagoriyuki duke it out in the halls of the White House.

The game’s ambitious design has perhaps been its downfall in recent times, asGuilty Gear Strivehas been delayed twice due to COVID-19. With the release date soon approaching, it seems ARC System Works is doing its best to get hype for the long-awaited game up to a fever pitch after the end ofthe lastGuilty Gear StriveBeta windowon the 16th May.

It wouldn’t do for a fighting game story to miss out on the combat, something the trailer isn’t remiss for. Clashes between characters old and new punctuate the trailer’s story beats, with dialoguessetting up a return of a long-termGuilty Gearvillain.

Keen-eared viewers of the English dub will pick out a few prestigious voice actors in the cast, like Matthew Mercer (Attack on Titan, Overwatch)and Tara Platt (Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Naruto Shippuden).Guilty Gearpurists can still opt for the Japanese dub of the game if they prefer.Guilty Gear Striveboasts many distinct characters, so it’s exciting to see tried-and-true names on the voice acting team bringing these characters to life.
