Summary
Known by titles such as the Creator and the Iron Colossus, Alexander is a powerful, non-elemental Summon inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Though Alexander is one of the more useful Summon Materia inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthdue to its sheer size and power, another incarnation of the metal giant sets the bar high for what Alexander is truly capable of.
As the guardian Summon of the Corel region, Alexander inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthwas constructed to pass its Divine Judgment on humanity and rain down punishment on those found wanting. But, those found worthy will gain a stalwart ally made of shining metals, and more than enough firepower to take down even the most daunting enemies. Alexander made its series debut as an Esper inFinal Fantasy 6,which can be obtained in the World of Ruin. It appeared in the originalFinal Fantasy 7as a Summon Materia obtained in the Great Glacier following a battle. Withmultiple appearances inFinal Fantasy, Alexander’s latest appearance is one of the most useful Summoned entities players can obtain on their journey.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Alexander Is A Sleeping Giant
While Alexander is an infrequent Summon as far as appearances go, it continues to serve as a valuable asset in battle. Starting with Chapter 7: Those Left Behind,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers canobtain the Alexander Summon Materia. Like Titan and Phoenix before it, the Alexander Summon Materia is unlocked by defeating it in Chadley’s combat simulator. However, obtaining the Iron Colossus will require effort, as players must reach the Corel region and find Chadley in places like North Corel. Alexander would then be available to fight, but it would be a difficult task for the unprepared to defeat.
Alexander can use long-range attacks, but it is weak to Lightning magic. Characters with the right Materia and abilities, such as Barret and Yuffie, are recommended for taking down the Colossus. However, Alexander’s battle can be even easier during Chapter 7, asFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthplayers can locate a Divine Sanctuary in the northern part of the Corel map, to the west of Costa del Sol. The other two sanctuaries will remain inaccessible until players unlock the buggy and explore the southern parts of Corel. Once all the Divine Sanctuaries are located, players can both have an easier timedefeating Alexander and buffing its Summon Materiato where it can use the Great Laser attack.

Final Fantasy 14: The Epic of Alexander
FF14’s Alexander is a Cut Above
As powerful asFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Alexander is, one of its other incarnations is amongthe most powerful entities in theFinal Fantasyseries. InFinal Fantasy 14, Alexander first appeared in theHeavenswardexpansion as an 8-player raid series that featured two difficulty modes across 12 encounters. The raid was split into three wings – Gordias, Midas, and The Creator – with Alexander Prime, the Soul of the Creator, serving as the raid’s final challenge. Alexander was a time-traveling Primal construct called into the Dravanian Hinterlands by the Illuminati Goblins, and it was loaded with weapons and impenetrable defenses that could tear Eorzea apart if the Illuminati willed it.
Despite Alexander’s numerous defense systems, the Warrior of Light and their allies were able to dismantle the Primal from within. The Illuminati were eventually routed, and Alexander locked itself in a temporal prison of its own making. However, it would not be the last time that players faced Alexander. InShadowbringers, Alexander returned to the spotlight in Patch 5.1, Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty. The Iron Colossus was joined by three of its most powerful minions (Living Liquid, Cruise Chaser, and Brute Justice) to form a 17-minute gauntlet called The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate), one of the most difficult raids inFinal Fantasy 14to date. While it is a daunting challenge, conquering Perfect Alexander and gettingan Ultimate weapon glamourto show off for the effort makes The Epic of Alexander a raid worth taking on.
