How to Charge Oculus Quest 2 Controllers
Strictly speaking, there’s no way to charge theOculus Quest 2 controllers, at least not out of the box. There’s no charging port to charge them with, and there’s no wireless charging pad to keep the batteries full. The Oculus Quest 2 touch controllers aren’t rechargeable. However, the controllers simply take double-a batteries, which gives the problem a bit of a workaround. Charging the Oculus Quest 2 controller is possible if users buy rechargeable double-a batteries, which can be used in pretty much any controller after that.
How to Change Oculus Quest 2 Controller Batteries
Those that don’t want to waste time hunting down a nice rechargeable battery can instead just recharge the Oculus Quest 2 controllers the old-fashioned way, by swapping out the batteries. Each controller just takes one battery, so it’s not a massive ask to swap them out when it comes time to do so. On the controller, users will notice a symbol on the side of the grip. Push down on the symbol with a thumb, and the battery cover should pop off of the controller. Swap out the battery, put the cover back on, and voila, the Oculus Quest 2 controllers are charged and ready to go.
That’s pretty much all there is to charge theOculusQuest 2 controllers. While a rechargeable battery would be convenient, wireless charging presents a ton of other challenges and having to plug in the headset and both controllers would get old quickly. Perhaps the future will hold a more efficient method to recharge the Oculus Quest 2 touch controllers, though.
