Summary
Inno3D has launched a new RTX 4070 GPU with a hidden power connector. The company first showcased the design at Computex in June, and the RTX 4070 is the first graphics card in the series. Dubbed the RTX 4070 Twin X2 OC White, this graphics card has a dual fan design with a white and silver color combination. Inno3D calls it “Stealth Cable Management”, as it allows users to hide the graphics card cables behind the card for a cleaner look.
Every other GPU in the market has its power connector on the side or draws its power directly from the PCIe connection. Whether the graphics card is mounted vertically or horizontally, the power cable is always visible, making it another piece of hardware that needs to be managed and, in some cases, color coordinated. Besides the aesthetics, the side-mounted cable connector also adds bends in the cable that could negatively affect performance in the long run.

The Inno3D RTX 4070 Twin X2 OC White with Stealth Cable Management has a matte white and silver aesthetic with two fans on the front. What’s more interesting than the color scheme is the placement of the power connector. The company has decided to place the power connector on the back and appears to be flush with the housing. There is also a removable cover to hide the connector for a cleaner look.

In itsofficial post, Inno3D hopes this will become an industry norm as the market has been moving towards giving greater significance to aesthetics. It also states that the Stealth Cable Management series of cards will ship with matching white power cables. The company has opted to go with the standard 8-pin power connector design, instead of the newer 12VHPWR(12+4-pin), likely due to the fact that theRTX 4070does not demand extreme levels of power, unlike theRTX 4090 and its melting cable debacle.
Other Board Partner RTX 4070 GPU Offerings
ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Twin Edge
The Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Twin Edge offers unmatched gaming performance at its pricepoint. Supporting NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture, gamers can experience the full impact of DLSS 3 and ray tracing. The RTX 4070 is also a more compact card for smaller less power-hungry gaming rigs. IceStorm 2.0 cooling lets gamers push their GPU to the max without it breaking a sweat.
ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 OC
The ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 OC is the most well-rounded offering from ASUS in terms of pricing, performance, and build quality when it comes to an RTX 4070. With excellent, quiet cooling, an above-average boost clock, and a rugged look, it is one of the best RTX 4070 SKUs money can buy.
Gigabyte AERO GeForce RTX 4070 OC
As one of the best-looking variants of multiple RTX 4070 SKUs by various AIBs and arguably the best white RTX 4070 SKU, the Tri-Fan Gigabyte Aero RTX 4070 is an excellent GPU that offers a decent overclock, excellent cooling and an aesthetic that is hard to beat, even more so if gamers are going for an all-white build this time around.
MSI RTX 4070 Ventus 3X 12G OC
The MSI RTX 4070 Ventus 3X 12G OC is a mid-range RTX 4000 series GPU that offers RTX 3080-like performance with slightly better value thanks to its stellar DLSS 3 performance. Currently, trading slightly above MSRP for the founder’s edition makes it an excellent buy for anyone looking to upgrade this summer.
From the few images shared by Inno3D, it looks like there is a cutout on the backplate of the graphics card where the power connector slots in to. The connector seems to be facing downward, which means the cable will slot straight into the connector without any bends. However, the cable will still need to bend somewhat to navigate around the motherboard and through a cable grommet to get to the PSU. Now, while this design would hide most of the cable in the vertical orientation, the more standard horizontal orientation would give a different look.

Interestingly, this is not the first graphics card to innovate on the placement of the power connector. Colorful unveiled its take on a hidden power connector last month with its iGame GeForce RTX 4070 Ultra Z OC. The white graphics card with pink accents has a unique power connector design, placed on the back of the card in a seemingly more integrated manner. The connector faces the side (instead of downward like the Inno3D card) and the cable takes a 90-degree turn through the bottom, exiting the card. Colorful also ships with a white extension 8-pin power cable.
Inno3D will release more variants in the Inno3D White series with Stealth Cable Management in the near future. Fans can expect RTX 4060 or RTX 4060 Ti SKUs with the new innovative design. As of now, it is unclear when the card will go on sale.
