Sucker Punch’s franchises have been handed off to other studios in the past, and so if the developer is truly busy with aGhost of Tsushimasequel as rumored, then it would make sense for Sony to hand offSly CooperandInfamousto someone else. ThelatestSly Coopergame was developed by Sanzaru Games, which is now owned by Facebook, so Sony would likely have to reach out to someone else to make it.
This isn’t the first time that rumors of a newSly CooperorInfamousgame have been mentioned. Last year, other leakers expressed the belief that anewInfamousgamewas going to be revealed at a PlayStation State of Play event, though it never happened. As for the rumored newSly Coopergame, leakers claimed that it started development within the last couple of years. While the jury is still out on whether or not Sucker Punch would be the studio behind a newInfamousgame, the leaks have already claimed that a potentialnewSly Coopergamewould be developed by someone else.
All things considered, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. While it would make sense for Sony to try to capitalize on the popularity of its franchises likeSly CooperandInfamous, no official plans have been announced at the time of this writing.
