Upon deciphering the vessel thanks to Venigni, players can speak with Eugenie who discovered that Alidoro is actually a fraud and not the real treasure hunter. Helping Eugenie will either reward players with theFar East PrincessRecord (Lie) or theProposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1Record (Truth). Since Records are somewhat required for theRise of Pending, which is considered the true/good ending, players will have to kill Alidoro throughout two playthroughs toacquire both Records inLies of Psince obtaining both at the same time is impossible.

What Happens If Alidoro Is Spared In Lies of P
Nothing worth mentioning happens if players decide to keep Alidoro alive inLies of Pexcept for missing out on two important Records. Additionally, Eugenie’s Side Quest will never be complete, which locks out an Achievement as well as the chance to gain extra Humanity Points.
The impostor is not actually Alidoro but his sidekick who killed the real treasure hunter due to a heated argument. The murderer took the famous dog mask and impersonated Alidoro. Later on, players can find the impostor at St. Frangelico Cathedral and invite him to Hotel Krat. He lies low for a while but then moves to the Barren Swamp to nab a treasure from the boss area. The fake Alidoro eventually disables the Hotel’s security which allows the Black Rabbit Brotherhood to freely enter Hotel Krat inLies of Pand kidnap Geppetto.
