To help upgrade Burgage Plots inManor Lordsand keep their population appropriately fed, players will need to ensure they get their hands on multiple sources of food. Although Berries can be easy to harvest and Meat is available via hunting, players can amass quite a bit of Bread each year if they know how to create fields and grow Wheat. Although the process can seem a bit convoluted, Bread offers a good source of food that can carry players through the harsh winter months each year when food is scarce. As part of the bread-making process, Lords and Ladies will need to construct a Windmill, which is responsible for crushing grains into flour that can then be used to bake bread in a Communal Oven or upgraded Burgage Plot.
Here’s an expanded look at How to get a Windmill inManor Lordsto create Flour, and some reasons why the Windmill is not working.

Why The Windmill Isn’t Working In Manor Lords
The main reason the Windmill isn’t working is that players do not yet have any Grain present in the building. At first glance it may seem like all players need to make Flour is Wheat, but there is an extra step that takes place between the Wheat being harvested and the Flour being made in the Windmill. The Wheat will first need to be threshed into Grain inside the Farmhouse before it is transported to the Windmill. Unfortunately, workers inside the Farmhouse will not thresh the Wheat into Grain until all of their other duties have been taken care of, including harvesting and sowing the fields. Thankfully, players canincrease the Threshing Priorityby accessing the Farmhouse and changing it on the Advanced Tab. A higher priority means workers will focus more on turning Wheat into Grain.
Here are some reasons that the Windmill is not working in Manor Lords:

How To Get Flour In Manor Lords
Getting Flour in Manor Lords is a bit of a process and can be pretty confusing for players who are just starting out. Althoughmaking Bread is as straightforwardas having an oven and using Flour, getting the Flour itself can be a bit of a slough. To start, players will needto first collect some Wheat. Wheat can be grown as a crop in fields and is harvested once a year (between September and November). This means players will need to grow and tend to the crop all year and then collect a single yield of Wheat, which they can then use to start making Flour. Those who are confused on how to get their crops going can use theManor Lords Farming Guide hereto get started.
The process to collect Flour for Bread in Manor Lords looks like this:

Once players have Flour, they’ll need to turn it into Bread to provide food for their population. To do so, players need access to an Oven. There are two ways to create ovens in Manor Lords. The first way is to build something called aCommunal Oven. This structure takes 2 x Timber to produceand will require at least one worker to operate. Once players have aCommunal Oven, they will be able to turn their Flour into Bread.
Although theCommunal Oven is the fastest and easiest way to create a spot to make bread, players can also craftOvens within their Burgage Plotsby utilizing the Bakery Extension. This upgrade is a little more difficult to obtain as it first requires players to upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 2. They will then need tospend 5 x Regional Wealth,as well as 5 x Planksto build the extension on the Burgage Plot. Though this process takes a bit longer, it can be an easier way to build multiple ovens and produce more Bread (and open more Market Stalls) as a product, without having to expend more workers.
