Marvel’sShe-Hulkhas just added yet another name to its increasingly robust cast, and just to keep things interesting, they’re not telling anybody who he’s playing. Hey, nobody wants to have the whole story spoiled before the show even releases. Well, maybe some do. But too bad, it’s not happening.
Josh Segarra, perhaps best known for playing the clever and vengeful Adrian Chase/Prometheus onThe CW’sArrow(for those who want spoilers, there’s one), has joined the team for the upcoming Disney+ series.She-Hulkhas been really stacking its acting deck lately, so another big talent like Segarra was almost inevitable at this point. His role is currently unknown, leaving fans to do what they do best and wildly speculate based on almost nonexistent clues.

Segarra will work alongside fellow cast members like Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters (the titular She-Hulk) and Mark Ruffalo, who will be continuing his near decade-long run as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Other names filling out the roster includeThe Good Place’sJameela Jamil as the villain Titania, Ginger Gonzaga from HBO’sTogethernessas Jennifer’s best friend, andHamilton’s Renee Elise Goldsberry as a character named Amelia. Notably, Tim Roth will also return to reprise his role as Emil Blonsky (aka Abomination) for the first time since 2008’sThe Incredible Hulk.
She-Hulkis described as a legal comedy, because apparently that’s where Marvel goes when they’ve already done everything else.Maslany’s Jennifer Waltersis an attorney who happens to have powers akin to her occasionally big and green cousin Bruce Banner. Interestingly, the series will diverge from previous Marvel shows and release in half-hour episodes rather than the typical 40+ minute offerings, suggesting the whole thing will be far more light-hearted than its predecessors.
Segarra himself has had a rather storied career so far. Aside fromArrow, he also starred as Staten Island Oli in the Amy Schumer filmTrainwreck, proving his roots don’t lie entirely in drama. Aside from that, some may be surprised to find out that he voiced Abraham Reyes in the originalRed Dead Redemption. His resume is additionally filled out with short but recurring roles in plenty of high-profile series likeOrange Is the New BlackandChicagoP.D.
She-Hulkis certainly looking to be a degree apart from the other recent Marvel offerings, and that might be just what the franchise needs. But whatever happens, the prospect of seeing a big green lady shout “objection!” is too good to pass up.
She-Hulkis set to release in 2022 with 10 episodes.
