Summary
Over the last decade or so, DLC has become an integral part of the fighting game genre. Wherefighting game franchisesused to only be able to update their rosters with a sequel, DLC allows players to get quicker access to more characters than ever before, and while DLC in general is still a tumultuous subject for many, it feels like a natural fit for games likeMortal Kombat 1.
On launch,Mortal Kombat 1shipped with 22 fighters in its base game roster. This roster included franchise staples like Raiden, Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero, while also adding in a few lesser-known fighters from the 3D era of the franchise, such as Nitara, Havik, and Ashrah.Mortal Kombat 1’s roster has only grown stronger with time, with the game’s first DLC Kombat Pack adding now-beloved fighters like Omni-Man, Peacemaker, and Ermac. ButMortal Kombat 1’s first DLC wave is coming to an end soon, and though it hasn’t been confirmed, fans are sure a second Kombat Pack is on its way.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Second Kombat Pack Wish List
Franchise Fighters Who Should Be in Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 2
WhileMortal Kombat 1’s base game rosterhad plenty of familiar faces, there are still a fewMKstaples that fans would like to see in the pseudo-reboot. Sonya Blade, Jax, and Kano are some of the most requested fighters forMortal Kombat 1’s next Kombat Pack, as is Jade, a character mentioned only by name during the game’s story. Though Cyrax and Sektor appear as Kameo fighters, it would be great to see them make their full debut in this rebooted universe as well, and they could be woven intoMortal Kombat 1’s story quite easily as both are confirmed to be working with Bi-Han.
The Kombat Kidswould also be a great addition toMortal Kombat 1’s roster. With Takeda being the final DLC character forMK1’s first Kombat Pack, it would make sense for characters like Cassie Cage, Jacqueline Briggs, and Kung Jin to appear in any future DLC, especially with them all appearing right at the end ofMortal Kombat 1’s story mode.
Guest Fighters Who Should Be in Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 2
Mortal Kombat 1’s hypothetical second Kombat Packhas been the subject of speculation long before the base game even came out, and there are a handful of rumored guest characters that should definitely make the cut. Doomslayer is first on that list. An iconic video game character that fitsMortal Kombat’s gory aesthetic perfectly, Doomslayer has been a highly requested guest fighter for years now, and putting him in the second Kombat Pack would be an immediate slam-dunk for NetherRealm.
DC’s Deathstroke is another long-rumored character who would be great to see inMortal Kombat 1’s second Kombat Pack, especially with the villain’s rumored appearance inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueseeming less likely by the minute. ThoughScream’s Ghostface wouldn’t quite fit the bombastic toneMortal Kombat 1’s DLC fightershave been going for so far, he’s still a character fans have wanted in the series for years, as isIT’s Pennywise the Clown. While returning franchise staples are great to see, these guest fighters are often the biggest draw forMortal Kombat’s DLC, andMK1has the opportunity to make some longstanding wishes come true.
