5Sanemi Shinazugawa
The Wind Hashira Abhors Demons With Every Fiber Of His Being
The Demon Slayer Corps has some of the most ruthless warriors who fear no demon or even death. Among these valiant combatants, Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa stands out as arguably themost violent fighter. When he finds himself up against a daunting adversary, he displays no hesitation or doubt and immediately unleashes a barrage of ruthless attacks that could even surprise the most dangerous demons in existence.
Before becoming a demon slayer, Sanemi led an ordinary life with his family untilthings took a tragic turnone evening. When his mother attacked his siblings after becoming a demon, it was Sanemi who single-handedly fought and killed her. Despite knowing the emotional burden that he would have to carry for the rest of his life, he did not take a step back and shouldered the responsibility of protecting his siblings with remarkable courage. Sanemi’s character was shaped by the tragedy, and every single battle he fought later in his life was ruthlessly violent and merciless.

4Gyutaro
The Ruthless Upper-Rank Six Who Never Realized His True Potential As A Demon
The brother-sister duo of Gyutaro and Daki held the position of Upper-Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki for many decades. Born and raised in the Entertainment District, they chose the region as their base and killed about 22 Hashiras together. The evil duo were ruthless and murdered every single demon slayer they ever encountered without mercy. So, when Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, accompanied by Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, arrived in the Entertainment District, Gyutaro was just as violent. He single-handedly fought every one of them at one point and would have successfully killed Tengen and Inosuke if not for Nezuko’s life-saving Blood Demon Art.
Gyutaro never truly realized his potentialas a demon as his sister always held him back. Even Muzan felt that Gyutaro only lost his life because of Daki and would have thrived without her. The Demon King had so much trust in Gyutaro, primarily because of his apathetic and violent personality, which made him stand out among ordinary demons.

3Gyomei Himejima
Demon Slayer Corps' Most Powerful Warrior
Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima once used to be an ordinary man who was happily raising orphans in a derelict temple. Despite the frugal life, he found contentment in serving others, but his peaceful world was ravaged one night when a demon attacked unexpectedly. Most of the children lost their lives, and Gyomei was blamed for the horrific incident. Luckily, Kagaya came to Gyomei’s rescue, following which he joinedthe Demon Slayer Corps. In just two months, Gyomei became a Hashira, marking the beginning of an illustrious career.
The Stone Hashira went to rescue the Kocho sisters after their family was attacked by a demon in which both parents lost their lives. It was Gyomei’s timely intervention that saved Kanae and Shinobu, who went on to become Hashiras themselves. Driven by his ingrained hatred for demons, he developed an extremely violent fighting style. Unlike some of his peers who rely on swords, Himejima uses the Nichiren Chained Flail and Axe. The weapon suits his violent fighting style and allows him to use his strength as an advantage.

Inthe Hashira Training arc, when Muzan’s back is against the wall after getting caught up in a deceptive trap laid out by Kagaya Ubuyashiki, Gyomei is the first Hashira to arrive at the scene. Without hesitation, he decapitates the Demon King using his flail. He shows a similarly ruthless fighting approach when his temple is attacked and he is forced to defend one of the children there. Gyomei keeps beating the demon with his bare hands until the next morning (without any prior fighting experience) and manages to kill his adversary. Deep down, the Stone Hashira is a soft-hearted man who cares deeply about the well-being of fellow human beings, but when it comes to demons, he becomes a cold-blooded killer who is willing to die for the greater good.
2Muzan Kibutsuji
The Demon King Is A Ruthless Killer
In the Heian Era, Muzan Kibutsuji was an ordinary human being struggling with an incurable illness. Since he came from a privileged family, he could afford an experimental treatment that accidentally turned him into a demon. Muzan also ended up gaining powers beyond his wildest imagination and was overcome with a desire to achieve immortality. His quest to conquer death made him reckless and violent. The Demon King murdered countless humans over the slightest inconvenience and was always confident that he would never face the consequences of his actions.
Muzan’s seemingly invincible powersallowed him to act as he pleased. In one instance, he was surrounded by people who had come to know about his demonic nature. The Demon King showed no mercy and brutally butchered every single one of them. His ruthless murders continued for hundreds of years, and when he encountered Tanjiro’s family, they also shared the same fate as his previous victims. Most of Muzan’s killings were painful and violent, offering no mercy to the victims who, at times, pleaded for their lives.

1Doma
A Cold-Blooded And Manipulative Murderer
The Upper-Rank Two Doma is inarguably the most manipulativemember of the Twelve Kizuki. He relies on his charismatic personality to influence people and take advantage of them. Unlike other demons who prefer to keep a low profile, Doma led the Eternal Paradise Faith cult in which he was a figure of worship. He frequently met with his loyal followers and even dedicated his valuable time to listening to their trivial problems. Through these small acts of kindness, Doma successfully embraced a holy image in the eyes of the Eternal Paradise Faith cult members.
Doma used his authority as the leader of the cult to meet some of his followers in private and devour them. While the systematic murders of innocent people were undoubtedly brutal, Doma truly expresses his cold-blooded violent tendencies when he fights a demon slayer. During his fight with one of the Hashiras in the Infinity Castle, Doma not only mocks them but also devours their entire body. Throughout the battle, the Upper Rank Two has a carefree approach, and his violent tendencies take over, revealing his psychopathic proclivities unhindered.
