In recent years, various games have tried to knockSuper Smash Bros.off its throne, with little success. However, the recently-releasedMultiVersusmay be the bestSmash Bros.alternative yet, with millions trying the free-to-play open beta and a lot of positive buzz surrounding the game. Part of the reason why there’s so much hype surroundingMultiVersusis due to the game’s bizarre but varied roster, which features all sorts of characters pulled from very different franchises.

TheMultiVersusrosteris ridiculous on paper, but it all works well in the context of the game. InMultiVersus, players can pit Arya Stark fromGame of Thronesup against beloved cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, and they can have DC Comics superheroes like Batman and Wonder Woman go toe to toe with characters like Shaggy and Velma. TheMultiVersusroster at launch is already quite varied and exciting, but there are even more characters coming in future updates.

MultiVersusdeveloper Player First Games has kept mostly quiet about future roster additions, beyond the fact thatRick and Mortyare both on their way. But while official announcements are hard to come by, there have been many datamine leaks, from earlier tests and the current beta, that have potentially pulled the curtain back on some other characters that may be making their way toMultiVersusat some point down the line.

MultiVersus Leaked Characters List

It should be noted that not all of these characters may actually make the cut. In fact, some characters listed here only appeared in earlier datamines and their files have seemingly been removed since. However, it’s easy to see how many of these characters could easily make the cut. For example, it would make a lot of sense to add moreScooby-Doocharacters, especially Scooby himself, and WB-owned cartoon characters like Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian seem like no-brainers. There are some “out there” choices as well, like Ted Lasso, butMultiVersushas already proven that just about anyone can fit on its roster.

One would think new character additions toMultiVersuswould be used as a marketing tool of sorts to promote things. For example, with theHouse of the DragonTV series set to debut on HBO Max, it would make sense to add anotherGame of Thronescharacter toMultiVersusto help promote it. And if a character likeEleven fromStranger Thingsis coming toMultiVersusas the leaks have suggested, one would think she wouldn’t be added until Season 5 ofStranger Thingsdrops to better capitalize on the popularity of the TV series.

Ultimately, none of these characters have actually been confirmed forMultiVersusin an official capacity, so fans should keep their expectations in check. There are manycharacters that would make great additions to theMultiVersusroster, but that doesn’t mean they will all make the cut.
